CelticBalla's Extra Thoughts/Notes
Perk better start tonight (I mean come on Curry/James? We need size and defense!).

CelticBalla's Prediction
We can win this game. They don't have any defense to match our offensive talents, but the thing is - neither do we. Whoever works the hardest tonight will get the W. Let's get one for the home crowd, eh?

Jerome wont be getting alot of minutes but I want to see if Malik Rose gets David Lee's minutes again. He played great vs Miami hit jumpers, boxed out, rebounded, played great defense on Shaq and he made smart passes. JJ wont get big minutes.Haha I told MArdyC this would be the lineup but wouldnt believe me

Well, I'm not 100% sure about the lineups for either team, to be honest with you. Doc changes our frontcourt rotation all the time. But I just guessed Q at the 2 and Jeffries at the 3, I figured it makes most sense.

I really wanna see a winning streak this time. They've worked way too hard this season to just keep losing like they have. Like CB said, win it for the home crowd.

1:15 leftDown 8Nice win tonight though. Gerald and Al were dynamite in the 2nd half. Pierce hit his shots. Rondo played a GREAT all around game tonight, 9 boards 8 assists I think. Scal was bombing in the first half. Loved how the kids played tonight all around. Tough blowing that huge lead, but seeing them defend it and grab the win was excellent. Nice hard earned win.

I was at the game tonight....great to see Gerald making big shots at big points in the game. Also AL was f*cking amazing tonight, he made so many great plays down the stretch. He looked like a bonified star tonight. I also loved the way Pierce was letting other people get involved as the game was getting close, he did take some shots at the end of the game but on several possessions he would get the ball and immediately go down to AL on the low post. Also, Scalabrine was stroking in the first half haha, that was awesome.Oh yeah, don't know much about this guy, but Mardy Collins plugged some good minutes for the Knicks tonight, I remember people on this forum saying he would be cut, he looked pretty decent for the minutes he played.

Awesome win, we really needed to get one for the home crowd. The energy tonight was outstanding, and so many young players had great games. We were nailing out outside shots, got to the line, Big Al and Perk were holding down the paint, Rondo was outstanding, and some of the role players made some big plays. I was very pleased with this team tonight. Banged up Knicks or not, we played a hell of a game.

We did, however, blow a 20 point lead. Now, after a nice win like this, I hate to bring up the negatives, but I have to. This is why we need a couple more veterans on this team, we make too many mistakes and we are never stable for an entire game. I loved the runs and I loved how well the team played, but we need to play solid ball for 48 minutes a night, not 30-35.

Al Jefferson was beasting from the start. They really established him in the post right away, and he converted. We need to feed him early like that EVERY night. He got the touches tonight, he needs to get them like this every single night... no excuses (unless he is really struggling, shooting 20-30% or something like that). But he was outstanding tonight. He obviously worked Curry and Rose offensively. He put the moves on them, hit a couple jumpers, brought out the hook, and he got to the free throw line a lot. He rebounded as usual, he blocked a couple shots as usual. But I really loved Al's passing out of double teams tonight, he found the cutters beautifully. He is really progressing beautifully, I'm so grateful to have a kid like this.

GERALD GREEN... FOR THREEEEEEEEEE! G-Money had a pretty bad first half. He made some bad decisions and he wasn't very aggressive offensively. But in that second half, from the 1-2 minute mark in the 3rd all the way through the 4th to the final buzzer, Gerald absolutely lit it up offensively. He drove and drew some contact, he didn't turn the ball over, he nailed 3 or 4 three's, and he got to the line a couple times. But you know what else he did in that fourth quarter, and something that even Doc acknowledged? HE PLAYED GOOD DEFENSE! He stayed "home," he didn't gamble, and he got up in the face of Jeffries and Richardson. Beautiful job tonight, Gerald! Once this kid develops some kind of consistency level, he's going to be a dynamite player.

Rondo did a terrific job tonight, absolutely outstanding. He struggled offensively and missed a ton of runners/floaters, but I don't care how many points he scores. That's not his role. His role is to play defense, run the offense, move the ball, push the ball, and bring a ton of energy. He did just that tonight. He had 2 turnovers to start off, but after that he went mistake-free. His 3rd and final turnover wasn't even his fault, it was Al's fault for not catching and being ready for Rondo's bullet (and beautiful) pass. I love this kid.

The Truth forced a couple shots and took a couple quick ones, but overall he played a good game. He hit the dagger jumper as well. A pretty typical Paul Pierce night, he really is The Truth.

How can I forget about the redhead? SCAL!!! Scal went off in the first half, it was unbelievable! He was letting it rain from 3-point land like there was no tomorrow, and get this... HE DUNKED! BRIAN SCALABRINE DUNKED IN A GAME! He even blocked 3 shots with it! I love it! Too bad he didn't really do much of anything in the 2nd half, but that's ok. Go Scal!

Perk played very well tonight also. His passing was exceptional, as it usually is. He rebounded the ball and put a body on Curry like I said he needed to do in the preview post. He did his job tonight.

Gomes had a nice first half, but he was pretty quiet and non-existent in the 2nd half.

D-West had one of his quietest games of the year. He didn't shoot much and he got burned by Marbury quite a few times.

I also want to point out that I loved the 8-man rotation tonight. I would have wanted Powe in there, but you can't take Scal out on a night like he had tonight. But with this roatation, everybody got 20+ minutes and everyone did well (except Delonte, IMO).

Player Stat Lines
Al Jefferson: 26 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks on 9-14 shooting, 8-11 FT
Paul Pierce: 24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals on 7-15 shooting, 2-4 from 3, 8-10 FT
Gerald Green: 21 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists on 6-9 shooting, 4-6 from 3, 5-6 FT
Rajon Rondo: 4 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals on 2-7 shooting
Brian Scalabrine: 14 points, 2 assists, 3 blocks on 5-10 shooting, 4-9 from 3
Kendrick Perkins: 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal on 0-1 shooting, 0-2 FT
Ryan Gomes: 7 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist on 3-5 shooting
Delonte West: 6 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists on 2-6 shooting

Next Game: Saturday (3/3/07) @ New Jersey at 1:00 pm ET.

I really like Mardy Collins, I fell in love with the kid last year at Temple. He's just so solid, he does it all well. He has a high basketball IQ, he's 6'5'' and can handle both guard positions, and he's a good defender. I had him going in the top 20, to be honest with you.

Dangit, I was at my dads tonight so I didnt get to watch the game. Exciting to see a win though, even if it is against a injury infested New York team. Everyone seems to have played really well....Damn, Scal has really improved this year. Not only is he working his ass of all over the place, but he is shooting the ball well. He attempted "9" threes. He has so much more confidence right now than he ever dreamed of...

Man, you don't even know the half of it... he DUNKED!!! [IMG] For the first time in his Celtic career, I believe, he dunked in a game! Now that is rare! But yes, he has improved his shot a great deal this year. Coming into the game, he was shooting something like 46% from 3. Don't sleep on Scal, seriously.

HAHAH...you have got to be kidding me. I am hoping that it was a fast break, because if somebody got dunked on by a white, fatass with red hair, they are going to be scarred for life.

To tell you the truth, Knick players WERE around him. Rondo gave him a beautiful feed and Scal just smashed it through. I was in shock. [IMG] I'll get a video up for you once I download the game.

For this play alone, Eddy Curry shouldn't play for the rest of the year:

Lmao ^^^It was a good setup though. Him and Pierce had to move together, then they doubled team pierce and left Scally open. Good win.

How is he the biggest waste? He's a good hustler sometimes, and can knock in his shots when he has a good shot. If he's the biggest waste, how come he did so good last night against your Knicks huh?
