At our essence, we are all made of energy. Energy does not dissipate. It transfers. This affirms my reincarnation belief.

For me, it was just the silence, watching a truck disappear....and then hearing a monstrous crash. Totally creepy.

I witnessed a double-fatality car accident back in 2013, which occurred about 60 feet from my apartment. The silence (it was about 1 AM), combined with the brutality of the wreck, with blood and two people crushed (one partially ejected from the driver's side) was absolutely surreal. I remember telling my counselor that the silence, while standing there checking the pulse of the driver and passenger, was the creepiest part of the whole ordeal.

Alcohol was a factor. Both the driver and passenger were absolutely wasted, and took out a light pole and snapped a tree in half at over 70 MPH in a 25 MPH zone.

I just checked out a facebook page for one of the women involved in the crash: Julie Demimg; a memorial page. There's also a small cross that I visit from time to time out in the center median of Mcgillivray Blvd.

That's her legacy. A Facebook page that nobody comments on, and a lonely cross with weathered and forgotten balloon strings attached to it.

As for the other girl, Brittney Deter, she was arrested in high school for theft in 2010, and lost her Rodeo Princess title because of it.

    Her legacy?

If there is anything sadder than these two legacies, then I have yet to find it.
