The Tennessee Center for Policy Research says today that Al Gore, who won an Academy Award for his film about global warming and the importance of energy conservation, uses 20 times the national average to power his Nashville mansion. What's more, his use has increased since the release of "An Inconvenient Truth". The Center says:"Gore?s mansion consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES). The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh?more than 20 times the national average. Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh?guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore?s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359. Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore?s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006. Gore?s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore?s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year ? In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006."So I'm supposed to live like a raccoon while this tubby f@ck drives a go-cart from room to room on his fabulous estate. These dirty god-damn hippies all tell me how awful America is and how great everyone else is, and we should all roll around in the mud like these third world nightmare countries whose number one export is alien like diseases, meanwhile he's flying back and forth to Caligula-like parties in Beverly Hills on his 20 million-dollar Gulfstream jet. I'm supposed to power my shower with a treadmill, but according to this editorial in the USA Today, Gore can't even be bothered to sign up for "earth friendly" power sources like wind energy, even though the utility companies that service his homes (he has three) in Tennessee and Washington DC offer it as an alternative. I think Ed Begley Jr. is a damn retard, but when he shakes his malnourished fingers at me and says we can all live "green", I at least know that he's speaking from experience, because he truly lives that life. Al Gore is NOT a scientist or an expert on weather and he's sure as hell NOT an environmentalist. He might as well tell me he's a Japanese super train that transforms into a tiger and flies around fighting crime with Optimus Prime. Because that is closer to the truth than his fat ass actually "living green".The Truth.
That study was funded by a biased republican think tank, I was decieved by that report and made a Facebook group telling Al Gore to 'shut the F*ck up'...It turns out Al Gore does drive hybrid vehicles, uses efficient energy for his home that actually costs thousands more a year (Keith Olberman did a story on it earlier this week). He also uses energy efficient appliences. Gore also follows this rule when he travels.A carbon offset is a service that tries to reduce the net carbon emissions of individuals or organizations indirectly, through proxies who reduce their emissions and/or increase their absorption of greenhouse gases.[1] A wide variety of offset actions are available; tree planting is the most common. Renewable energy and energy conservation offsets are also popular, including emissions trading credits.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_offset I still think the guys a pretty big hypocrite/moron.
^Still, the fact that he drives hybrid cars and uses energy efficient appliences does not offset the amount of energy his home consumes. The study may have been done by a biast group, but the numbers from the NES are still true.
The guy is doing a lot more than most people and putting out a good message (in the long run). People should stop trashing him because "he doesn't do enough". How much energy do you think is being wasted by all of us Bball fans here on the blog???
I'm sure you would be mad if you lost the presidential race after donating so much time and money towards it. Seriously, if you lost off suspiciousness, I'm sure you, me, and every other BBW member would complain.

Its a horrible quote, but it lives sparatically thanks to people like Gore.Lets put this in terms of basketball. If Gore were president, he would be like the coach. Now if he preaches to you every day to do the best that you can as a player, but never pressures himself to do the same as a coach. How good of a coach (president) could he be?I think Bush is a crappy president as much as the next guy. But I'm sayin thank God we have him over this chump. I would rather have somebody who lies about why he does the things that he does than someone who lies about actually doing them.

When it's something as serious as a Presidential election, take all the time you need to get it right.
who f*cking cares what he does and doesn't do. Everyone should wake the F*ck up and look at what they are doing!!!! So the guys has a big house big f*cking deal. Lets take a look other millionaires houses and see what they are using? - Alot more I'd bet!I don't care what he does, his message is still clearly an important one. don't help the conspirator's change the focus from the real issue...that is Global warming , not what al gore does!
Hey, I didin't know Al Gore had a degree in Atmospheric Science? Pfffft, don't believe his sh*t literally, you need to discriminate when getting info like An Inconvenient Truth, A lot of it is good but, a lot of it is still driven to stir guilt in the American phsyche.
yes maybe guilt is what people need? Really are you saying that none of that sh*t is happening?Who cares what he uses, guilt or bribes or whatever as long as the message gets across!FFS Are americans really that arrogant?

Al Gore is the only one telling people all over the world what to do.
No hes not, tons of millionares are telling people what to do. Even if its jsut "buy this" in a commercial there targetting people HARD a certin age group usaully, Gore is telling people we're all going to be screwed if we don't do this - but he IS right. What makes a bigger differnce? Him using what the average American uses in onr year he does in one month. Or the millions of lifes he has affected with his speeches about global warming?

Al Gore has not effected millions of lives...most people hear what he has to say, go, 'OMG thats terrible' and then go back to living their lives normally.

Other scientists have been saying this sh*t for years. David Suzuki has been for decades! None of them have touched as many people as Gore has. I really cant believe that you are worrying about who is telling us that sh*t needs to happen, it matters that the message is finally getting out there. Its the average citizen and their arrogance to say "its ok the government will save us" Sorry but Americans seem to be the most arrogant of all. Have the worst emmisions overall, the worst cars, didn't sign kyoto. (we didn't either). Bush is starting wars about oil (lets not kid ourselves) when in 10 years half the WORLDS population might be homeless or dead! I don't know about you but it seems like all the people knocking gore are really missing the point and the urgency of the issue.Who would you suggest bring forward the message? Everyone has skeletons, and no matter who is saying what needs to be said, the idiots of the world will try and make a name for themselves by tearing down the person bringing up the issue.

(Maybe you were just kidding with that comment?)
