I don't know if its safe or not. its hard to tell right now since I haven't heard much update on No Orleans anymore. But then this would probably be also a + to help them get some money as well. We'll see what happens first.

I think itll be solid in Memphis. Memphis has a really good and new forum, we can support large events and the Blues theme would be a nice All-Star theme. I think if Las Vegas can do it better than this season, they should have it there every year though.

The issue is supporting it. We're talking about a city who doesn't even have there team play the entire season there yet. New Orleans is a bad choice because of financial purposes. Sure they would like it, but why throw a party in a broken home? Wouldnt make sense...

New Orleans is still a crime ridden mess, but not downtown and in the ritzy area's. Of course for publicity the NBA will go to New Orleans as soon as possible for a city that doesn't give a sh*t about it's NBA teams.

Well they do have a point, even Shaq has said he wouldn't feel safe and doesn't think its the right time to have the ASG in NO next year. If the police force down in NO is short handed and depleted or doesn't have enough man power to effectively police the city during ASW, then the NBA should move it. Yes the ASG will help NO financially, but like Stern said the city should stop focusing so much on bringing in the ASG and other events, stop concentrating so much on entertainment and rebuilding the convention centers, etc., but start focusing on rebuilding the areas that are still in shambles. There are also positive impacts that the ASG would have on NO, but we'll see what happens though. Billy Hunter has said he will talk it over with Stern, and if the players don't feel they will be safe then he will possibly take it to court to have the venue changed. But if I'm Stern and my players don't feel safe, I'd definitely move it.

New Orleans has the potential to be more of a PR disaster than Vegas was.

He's always talking about that crap going on there. It's not a good idea to put a great even in the murder capital og the world.

not safe, especially with the high crime rate, and the recent NBA Player Partying issues, its just not the right time.but an argument to put it there would be that how NO handled the Saints return.but the ASG and Mardi Gras just isnt something I would do.

I think that there will be a great turnout. Just look at how many fans go to the games when the hornets play in New Orleans. And then think of an All-Star game being played there....I think that their will be some good stories behind it, and there will be alot more people watching it than normal. I think that it is a great idea to put the All-Star game there. As for it not being "safe" enough, that is retarted. What is going to happen? Its not like the players are going to get shot or anything. Their is high security for basketball players, and all the fans that go to the games arent going to be randomly carrying guns on them. Things will be fine...

I can understand why people are saying why safety is an issue. Honestly, what the hell is the NBA thinking? Put it somewhere where you know nothing will happen. Hell put it in Toronto, make it the first Canadian all-star game. This just doesn't make any sense what so ever.

Every All-Star game should be in NYC. NYC well basically busy alot of people and would be great and alot of fans will be there. Garden crowd is amazing.
