"Quick Pitch" this AM featured a brief presentation of MLB tonight with Amsinger ( arrogant SOB) , Reynolds and Smoltz discussing the 18 inning Yankee/Cub game. Amsinger & Smoltz were pimping a proposal that games tied at the 8th inning would permit automatic base runners for each team to "speed up" the game, not tax bull pens, and improve strategy. Reynolds took the traditional stand. I always viewed baseball as a huge chess game, plenty of strategy, and unencumbered by time. You also watch the game tip to tail and if you left before the game end you simply missed out. Now they want to award base runners if tied after nine, what a crock. The "award system" would not be used during the playoffs. Ball Players are well compensated so a little overtime should not be a bitch or whine.

...they just need to leave the game alone. I never understood why some people don't seem to mind watching a football game that can last 3 1/2 hours but complain about a baseball game lasting more than 2 1/2 hours.

...one of the many things that makes baseball so unique is that there is no clock...leave the game alone.

I saw that "joke" segment and all I could think of that these fools have selfish motives to make a
mockery of the most timeless sport in the world. Baseball has no time limits unlike many other
sports and it should stay that way.

Heard a Tom Verducci proposal that a manager should be able to break the lineup and have the teams best man hit instead of following the prescribed order. That one shocked me, I always thought Verducci had more sense. I guess these assholes get to drinking after their Golf Course time, sit around think up shit to "improve: the game. The scary thing is that Manfred the Wonder Dog may actually try to implement stuff like that.

So many of these talking heads are so desperate to make a name for themselves, they say shit just to draw attention, whether it has merit or not.

...oh yeah, in this day and age of social media, this sort of thing is everywhere....Skip Bayless is a very good example. I seriously think he spews mindless ideas just for the sake of being controversial ...and so many people out there with blogs and what not, as if there opinion is any better than yours and mine after doing tequila shots at a sports bar somewhere.

...and if you notice, the opinions of these so called "experts" change daily/weekly depending on who's hot and who's not...uhhh, kinda like we do here.

Now that idiot Buster Olney is jumping on that bandwagon citing "better working conditions. Lets see entry level players make a good wage, club picks up hots and cots. Opportunity for extra bucks and notoriety may abound. I could go on I guess but pretty good perks for playing a game. And then some non-playing ass hole like Olney id "fighting for better working conditions" Leave the game alone for Christ Sakes.
