chuck, you always say that after every playoffs. You are ignoring the fact that there is a guy behind the bench who has been out coached consistently in the playoffs.

I'd keep Nash for the final year. He has played well and he's the best pure goal scorer they have. Stepan is not a #1 center and should be moved to wing. If Zibanejad is the future then treat him as such and move him up to the first line.

Right now I have to say I really do wish they would fire AV. I personally think he did a god awful job in this series against an inferior team. I could list 10 things I think.

He will be back though, so we have to hope he stops with the experience nonsense right now. To me he said all the wrong things after game 5...Brooks was 100% correct.

    My top 3:

    1. Find a way out of Staal or Girardi. Can anything be done with Vegas where we don't have to buyout Girardi. The buyout will be done if it needs to be, but man it is not a good looking deal for us moving forward.
    2. Trade Stepan. Forget wing. Him at 6.5 per with a NTC is a disaster. Somehow find a team that would covet what he adds and deal him.
    3. I would look at a new coach, but I know this one isn't happening.

Make a call to Sutter, Gorton. Wont win shit with this guy behind the bench. Four years is enough for him.

At least Vesey and Buch plus Skjei look like keepers and maybe someone like Graves or one of the other d acquisitions turn into something. Maybe Gropp makes a push next year though he could be a year away. I wouldn't mind bringing Smith back but who knows.

As I said previously I don't see what the obsession with Sutter is. Walked into a good situation in Los Angeles and was also below .500 in the playoffs prior to that.

I know everything is down right now, but it is a nice base. This was always a transition year. It became more than that after our hot start and move to the Atlantic bracket. Then we got a team we were better than in round 2 and said why not us. I get that, I lived that also. But if we follow the plan this was a transition year.

I like looking forward to what we have growing upfront. And Graves adding to McDonagh/Skjei/Smith or Shatty on D. That's a nice base for good things I think if we can make the right 2 or 3 moves around it.

The guy has two cups, good situation or not. Our guy has zero. Can we at least give Sutter a chance for two years?

If a change would be made I'd rather have somebody with a future. I just have no interest in a guy like Sutter. I'd rather have a guy like Lindy Ruff if you're going to go that route.

When the rangers add vets. We all know what happens...LOL they just collect the retirement checks. I would love to show Hayes the door though.

It's funny but I'm not even that upset. I guess I resigned myself to the fact that they were losing this series after they blew game five like they did. Just asking to overcome too much. Gut punch one put them down 2-0 in the series. Gut punch two knocked them out.

Amen 717...I agree 100%. Not really upset either. WAY too many things working against them after being down 2-0, then battling back only to be gut punched again and lose game 5 tied 2-2. Like I said Saturday...would have been an all-time epic win if we came back from all the things that stacked up on us this series.

It's like casinos. Eventually the odds get to you in the end and you lose. We mentioned previously that game five winners take the series 78% of the time. It's not like it can't happen but you can't expect it often.

What we need to do is follow what I laid out above (which is exactly what many/most of you have been writing also so not my idea). And then stay the course with the kids upfront, Graves on D, and sign a dman. This hopefully will be a springboard to bigger things.

Last season was step one. I think this season could be step two hopefully. Gorton has done a really good job since he took over, I have faith in him.

AND team that goes up 2-0 wins 78% of the time. So a double 78% of the time. Yeah...unlikely you come back to win that series.
