Dan Girardi has limited NTC starting this summer. So he has to list 15 teams that he agrees to be traded. So he is movable. If Rangers take back 1M off his salary, it can be done easily.

It's certainly not out of the realm, and he'll be easier to move than Staal. If you ate 1m and threw in a 3rd rounder it probably could get done, as he seemed to show he can play decently another two years. Staal just looks like he's trying not to get hit anymore. Today V said they both would be limited next year, hopefully that was code for at least one will be gone, and that they are looking to get younger which is obvious. It'll be interesting to see which teams are on his list and which might even want him. Probably a few Canadian teams, maybe a Vancouver or Calgary. I could see Florida or Arizona.

No matter how he does it Gorton must find a way to get rid of both girardi and staal.

I will be happy with one gone. Absolutely one needs to be gone. Not sure it is realistic to think both will be gone.

The team doesn't need picks to trade Girardi. A team that's way under the cap would be glad to take him

I though Girardi had a better playoffs than McD. He was physical and played hard

No he didn't. If not for Skjei and McDonagh, this team would have been out in the first round.

Great if Gorton can get rid of Staal and Girardi but at least one has to go. I'd resign Smith, Shattenkirk is going to want 2-3 times what Smith will cost.

No. McDonagh didn't get beat plenty of times. Two, it just goes to show how much Rangers fans take this guy for granted. He played 27 minutes a game against all the top lines. It was Stepan, Staal, Miller and Hayes that killed this team in the post season.

I know dump but the canadiens and senators scored big goals when he was on the ice. Just like Henrik needed to make one big save McD and the other dmen had to make one more defensive play

The main thing with McDonagh is being more assertive on the pp. He's a little too pass happy when sometimes you just need to get pucks at the net. He's not the only one.

It was not McDonagh's fault those goals were scored. Many times it was the incompetence of Stepan and Hayes not covering anybody.

Don't know if he was hurt or not but McDonough played extremely soft even shying away from contact on a few of those goals. Ryan is still the obvious #1 on this team but I don't think he's Captain material.
