<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Nowitzki, Billups named NBA Players of the Month March 1, 2007NEW YORK-- Dirk Nowitzki was rewarded for lifting the Dallas Mavericks to the top of the NBA. The superstar forward of the Mavericks on Thursday was named the Western Conference Player of the Month for February. Detroit Pistons guard Chauncey Billups was honored in the East. ...On his way to leading the Mavs to a 10-0 record for the month, Nowitzki averaged 27.1 points and 9.7 rebounds. The 7-foot German scored at least 30 points four times during the month. Dallas (48-9) is in the midst of a 13-game winning streak, its third run of at least 12 games this season.... Billups averaged 17.9 points and 7.5 assists while leading the Pistons to a 10-1 record for the month. Other nominees were Cleveland's LeBron James, New Jersey's Vince Carter, New Orleans' Tyson Chandler, New York's Eddy Curry, Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala, Phoenix's Amare Stoudemire and Toronto's Chris Bosh.</div>As you can see, this guy is still so valuable to this teams success, even after the ankle injury, he's still getting the job done. his assists might be slightly falling, but look for those to go back up.[edit] Flip Saunders got coach of the month honors too.

Well deserved, but give a lot of credit to Chris Webber's addition to the team for it's recent surge. Obviously I'm speaking the obvious, but Chris Webber's boost has really fueled our team. That, and getting Mr. Big Shot back from injury. It just feels great to know that we, the Piston fans, have proved some of the brightest members on BBW wrong.
