I strongly believe the Lakers should have tried to trade for Derick Fisher instead of Jason Kidd. Hear me out I know having Jason Kidd would have been great and he would have really helped us out alot but I also believe having Fisher back as a Laker would have been smart as well because 1 him and Kobe came into the league together so they know and respect each others game really well. 2. He knows the Triangle offense really well and 3 he was a big part in winning those championships back in our Dynasty days. I believe having him back would help. I also think we should try going after Robert Horry during the offseason if we can't get KG.
No way Utah would make a trade with the Lakers. the Lakers are chasing the Jazz in the playoff hunt, so it would be stupid for the Jazz to make such a trade which could actually end up hurting them. thats why you rarely see trades between teams in the same conference, especially playoff teams.
Good points redneck! Not to mention why would the lakers go after Horry? He's seriously like 97! He could do nothing but take roster space and be a mentor to maybe cook and ronny t!
I am all for getting Fisher but the guy's contract is pretty large...not to mention I doubt Utah wants to get rid of him. Fisher will always be remembered as a Laker anyway. We could definitely use him though.
Jason kidd probably does everything better than Derek fisher. Derek fisher's "triangle smarts" don't out -do everything kidd has. Kidd would allow kobe to permantely be stationed on the wing.
Offensively he'd be a great fit. But he just doesn't have the defense (something the Lakers desperately need at the point guard), he has that enormous contract, he's getting old, and the Jazz wouldn't even want to give him up in the first place.
It just makes me kinda mad when I think about it because the only reason he left was because of Gary Payton taking his starting spot and then a few weeks later(I think) Payton was traded as well so it could have all been avoided if they would of just traded Gary Payton and kept Fisher. As for Horry he still has some great game in him and he's shown that he can help a team win.

He isn't much of a passer too. He prefers to shoot the ball then pass. And JKidd will rather make his players look better. But Fisher has done a lot for the Lakers and I still remember that .4 second shot. It was just amazing and everyone ran to the locker room.
I wasn't saying he was a better player or even just as good as Kidd I was just thinking we might would of had a more realistic chance of getting him.
