Totally shocked. He was the single greatest vocal talent I've heard from my generation. And I've heard and seen about all of them. Didn't matter what the music was, Cornell would take those four octaves and burn your soul inside and out. Like how can he top that? Then you hear Superunknown or Euphoria Morning and be like "Wow!" I don't think we you'll see a front man with those raw of pipes again.
Wake up, my wife asks me if I heard the news. Usually I don't give a fuck. Insert random celebrity death and my reaction is "ok" This time I'm "NOOOOOO" And "WHHYYYYY?" Motherfucker. I'm still pissed at him for Timbaland and Scream or whatever it was but this is too much
I saw a comment on yahoo that said why is it never beiber? Don't want him dead, but I get the point. I'm having be careful not to blow up on someone already. Got tailgated on my way to work, less than one car length at 55 mph. Almost threw my coffee out of the sunroof. I literally want that asshole dead before he kills someone
Police are saying it's a possible suicide. I didn't even know the guy suffered from depression until reading about it this morning. If that true, it just makes it worse. I am still trying to wrap my head around it.
I don't buy it at all. I've seen interviews with him in the last 8 years. He seemed way more stable than many others. And suicide would have happened 20 years ago... wth? Seriously back in the day, as far as I know and saw back in the day, he was not in the same circles as Lane and Kurt and a few of the other hard core heroin/drug users. He seemed a bit more level headed. I don't buy the Suicide thing. I know he has battled depression, but I thought that was long in the past.
Part of me doesn't buy it either. I think it will be found out to be a heart attack. Dude had just finished a show. Eerily the last song he sung in the set was about death.
Yeah. I've read a lot of articles he did and interviews with him. He always seemed well composed and seemed to have his wits about him. And as far as drugs go, Soundgarden were always more a drinking band, and they got rid of that stuff years ago. Yeah. If it's of natural causes that would make more sense. AIC and Nirvana were had more of the crazy stuff going around as far as substances go.
One article mentioned his wife calling to have someone check on him. Perhaps he said something to her that alarmed her?
