Pre-Injury- AmarePost-Injury- DwightAmare has lost about 3-4 inches on his vertical since the injury, and he hasn't been in a dunk contest or whatever to show what he has retained. So, by default, Dwight gets this.

Amare has regained his ability to throw down some nice dunks but they get blocked way more than they did 2 years ago so even though he is a better overall player than ever before, he is not the better dunker.

Wow this is a great comparison. Props on this man. Dwight Howard and Amare are both extremely gifted players. Both players give you so much energy and they both have so much upside. They both can score, rebound, and distrubute the ball. I don't really think you can pick one over the other. However, keep in mind Amare's job is easier when you play with Steve Nash.

I think that dwight is a better bigman dunker, only because amare's injury has taken away -if only a bit- of his athletic ability. It's not a very big gap between them tho.

Dwight before and after the Amare injury. Just seems like a creative mind.

I would have to give Amare the slight advantage since he can take his game out to 15 to 18 ft.

This topic is who's the best dunker, not the best player.

Amare is downright powerful. Howard can basically do it all. Before Amare got hurt I'd say he was better, but after the injury he hasn't been quite the same, still great, but not the same. Dwight on the other hand, is just getting started and he is a true presence down low. The Magic are going to be quite the team of the future, actually, they're already good.

I agree that before the injury to Stoudamire that he was the better dunker but after it is Dwight Howard. I think Dwight Howard is the most athletic big man that we have seen in a long time and will be a great dunker the rest of his career.

I would have to say that it is probably Dwight Howard currently. Amare was probably better before his injury, but it's probably Howard now.
