I think they would get their 2nd option in free agency or trade. If they upgrade the team with better, younger players while saving a little bit of money, that's a good thing. In 2 years, Isaac+Porzingas won't mean shit if they still have Noah, Lee, etc.

Will see if Olshey is interested if he brings him in for workout. I mean 26 we should maybe shoot for someone like Bolden. He looks like on the offense side with the full package.

I think people are trying to fix everything in one off-season. We have 3 years to fix the luxury tax issue before we worry about the larger ramifications. No matter what the Blazers do this season the Warriors are still the mountain to climb. Portland is the youngest team, has good momentum. Sure make little tweaks, but there's no need to panic and make medium sized moves they either need to make huge moves or be patient, it's not letting the cake bake, it's also not tossing the cake out the window for a stale pop-tart.

Yeah, I would have passed on Shaq and Olajuwan too since they were similarly poor free throw shooters as freshmen. Probably no chance he will get any better given he's already 18.

Sorry, I temporarily confused OG's knees with Giles'.

    Is he really Shaq/Olajuwan level?

Highly unlikely he is, but I could live with a freshman who shoots 54% and shows good mechanics in a workout. Lot's of guys shoot low % when they are younger. He honestly looks to me a lot like less tested version of Deandre Jordan, but with a better outside shot and shot blocking skills. Their measurements are pretty close.

actually would you guys do #15 and #20 for #10 pick then select zach collins. then trade crabbe, aminu, #26 for richaun holmes, covington, #36 and #39 from the 76ers. then with those picks we can get sindarius thornwell and jonah bolden.

Bolden may not be playing against great competition but some of what he does, very few people can do against any level of competition.

OK, all you sudden Bolden pundits, assuming both players are available, who would you take, and why: Jordan Bell or Jonah Bolden?

Draft Express has Bell going 33 and Bolden going 48, but that doesn't really mean much. Once you hit the second round, it's pretty much a crap shoot. People will rate different prospects higher or lower depending on what they value in a second round pick (NBA readiness vs. potential). Most teams are just looking for a solid role player not a future star in the second round.

I think Bell has a good chance of being a solid bench contributor. Bolden has a smaller chance to make more of an impact.....maybe even as a starter.

Bigger risk....of a bigger reward. In the 2nd round, swing for the fences.

he does look really good "on tape", he seems very light on his feet and moves very well, he's 6'10 with a 7'4 wingspan and looks to be a good 3 pt shooter already. In cases like this the 24mil Q is whether he might translate to the NBA? I'd really like POR to work him out, gotta say out of all the PF types he looks the best to me "on tape"

they are now possibly lower late first, earlier 2nd rd picks, IMO there is lot of incentive to move up rather that sit around as it equals more $$$ and they aren't close to "locks" like the top 5 or 10 are

Length and bulk - we'd have the biggest PF/C combo with Nurk/Ike since Sheed and Sabonis.

My issue is why was Bolden so anemic at UCLA during the 15/16 season? He was a 20yr old freshman & his advance numbers were poor.
Bell's numbers were much better as a 19yr old freshman & have improved since then.
