Did your favorite team make the correct pick/trade on draft night? For the Rocket fans, do you think Shane has been better then Gay has been this year? I can't really say anything for the Heat, as we didn't even have a first round pick in the draft.
hells yeah!!Lamarcus Aldridge got got 30 in 25 minutes.Brandon Roy is gonna get Rookie of teh YearSergio is the steal of the draftnuff saidand then theres that joel freeland guy. I dont know much about him...
Round one, I'll talk to u in a year, or maybe more. (Shannon Brown)Round two, hell yes!(Daniel 'BOOBIE!' Gibson)
Danny made a great move in getting Rondo, but I think that was a wash when he go Telfair. The kid has all the talent in the world, he just obviously hasn't been able to harness it, and he's not going to work out for the Celtics. There's no time for him to play, but hopefully he can find himself, and stay with Rondo and at some point Delonte can move over to the 2 guard spot full time.
Pistons: -Drafted Will Blalock with 60th pick: I'm happy with the move. He got some minutes with Hunter and Billups out with injuries. He's decent, he definitely was worth the 60th pick. I don't see him playing in the Pistons rotation any time soon though.-Traded Maurice Evans to Lakers for the 50th pick, Cheick Samb: I wish we could do this over, and not make the trade. Flip Murray and Ronald Dupree were signed, which made Evans the odd man out. But Evans is better than both of them. I loved his athleticism and his defense, but we got rid of him for a skinny seven foot guy that will never put a Piston jersey on.
Yes.Balkman is one of the best rookies, top 5-10...he does so much. And Mardy Collins is a mutha fu*kin G, he's awesome. I mean, if he got more minutes he'd easily win rookie of the year.
Seems like my post got deleted...So I do think we made more than the right choice. With the 20-somethingth pick, we got a solid rookie who is expected to be the future of the Lakers along with Bynum. I think he was somewhat of a steal, knowing what I can see now and what I expect to see.

We took two European shooting big men.. Oleisky Pecherov and Vladimir Veremeenko. Both of them are playing in Europe right now, but I'm somewhat excited that Grunfeld got us some international ball players. It was funny when Marcus Williams wasn't picked 'till the early 20s.. because for a second I thought the Wizards would pick up while he was available.
Well our so called first round pick, Amare Stoudemire, I doing great this year but no...they didn't make the right choices. I don't mind them trading one of the picks, especially the one to get rid of Grant, but I'd rather have Williams than Banks easily. I don't was the Suns run of great point guards to end in a couple years.
Well let me see if I can recap what I wrote last night.I'm not a fan of our pick so far, don't like what I've seen out of Ager when he has played. I noted on BBW, we had talked about Paul Millsap and Daniel Gibson. And those are two players I'd take over Ager still. Especially Millsap.
Dammit, my post I made in this thread was lost. I made it last night when the server situation went on, ugh. I had a big post, but oh well. I'll try to re-write it as best as I can:I like our draft day acquisitions and I don't. I love Rondo and Powe is very serviceable when he's in there, I think both of them were steals based on where they were picked. Rondo could very well be the point guard of the future here in Boston, and 9/10 Celtic fans (including me) will argue that he's our best point guard right now.The only thing that makes me shaky on the draft day as a whole is the Bassy trade. Now, I really like Bassy, I have defended him on this board plenty of times, and I will continue to do so for another 2 years or so. He's just 21, he still has a lot of potential. However, I don't think his future is in Boston. Rondo is better than him right now. Bassy is the better passer/playmaker and his shot is better, but he can't guard stationary objects lol. I still do think that he will be a very solid player in this league. Good backup to possible starter.I love the fact that we dumped Raef's knees and horrid contract for Theo's back and his horrid contract, because Theo's expires one year sooner. It actually expires after this upcoming season (07-08). We are either going to use that expiring contract to package in a trade to bring Pierce some help this summer (recommended if they want to keep him around) or we are going to just let it expire and use that money to give the kids new contracts. That's a win-win situation, extend the talent we have or get another star in return. So, I guess I like the deals for the most part. Again, I love Rondo and I really like The Powe Show. I like the financial side of Theo Ratliff, and I even like Bassy. If he panned out here, that would make everything perfectly sweet. I give our acquisitions an 8 out of 10.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Zards @ Mar 3 2007, 12:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I wanted the Wizards to draft Mardy Collins so badly.. an all-around guard that has great fundamentals. Hell yes. We had a pick somewhere in the 20's and the 50's and somehow managed to pick up Mo Evans and Jordan Farmar. Farmar was doing great until he hit the rookie wall, but I'm still stoked on him. Evans is inconsistent but when he's playing well he can change a game. He's not doing as well as I'd hoped defensively but we got him for a 7 footer who doesn't even weigh 200. It was a great draft night.
Yeah, Shane Battier for Rudy Gay was a great trade for both teams. Battier was just what Houston needed and Rudy Gay is going to be a star it seems. We got Klye Lowry who is going to be our starting PG for years to come, he can get up(he almost dunked on David Lee in the 1st game of the season), very tough nosed. I know alotve people are saying "yes, so-and-so was a steal", but Lowry was really a steal. Yall wouldve heard much more about him if he didnt get hurt. Then we got Alexander Johnson who fell in the draft. He was supposed to be a 1st rnd pick, but somehow dropped to the 2nd rnd where Memphis traded a future 2nd rnd pick for him to the Pacers. Hes a excellent rebounder and defender and is going to be really good for us.
We only had a second round pick and nabbed David Noel who has been so-so this year. I was hoping we'd pick up Paul Millsap for depth but was most crushed when Bobby Jones was selected...thats the guy I wanted us to pick.
I like what the Jazz did, they got Ronnie Brewer at 14. He's a good slasher who has shown potential. Dee Brown at 46, he hasn't show much because he never plays meaningful minutes burried behind Williams and Fisher. and Paul Millsap at 47, the steal of the draft. hell with his production he should have been a first round pick.
hahahahahahahahaha not even close. In fact I think our draft pick this year is warming the bench for some grade school team.
I'm happy with what the Raptors got. Bargnani has developed a lot this season and I didn't really expect him to be playing this well and just thought he would be shooting most of the time like what many people said. Also like PJ Tucker. He's a great defender and rebounder and he's a big body that the Raptors will like inside with Bosh. Looking forward to this year's draft as well. There's lots of great players that we can get even if we ain't a lotto pick.
