Washington played a great first half and lead UCLA by 11 at halftime. They were playing great defense on the Bruins and rebounding well. Then later in the second half UCLA makes a comeback and gets it to a 2 point game. From the point, Darren Collison of the Bruins goes up for a layup and gets hacked...no call. Washington, on the other end actually fouls the Bruins but the call goes against UCLA. (bad call) The refs were not going to let UCLA get that number 1 ranking, not to mention deteriate the Huskies triumphant victory. Great play by Washington but the refs just ruined the game for UCLA.
Oh bull. Washington simply outplayed UCLA. If we can stay hot and win the PAC-10 tournament, we will get in.
Yes I read that. And the refs didn't give us anything. UCLA was ranked number 2, and should of never trailed in that game.
^^I agree. The refs were sketchy there, but it didn't affect the outcome of the game as much as you're making it out to, lakerfan. Washington simply beat them.
That was a huge win for us. Now we have to go beat Washington State. It was a good game last time we played them but the first game they destroyed us. We need Justin Dentmon, Ryan Appleby and Zach Brockman to have big games in order to win.
Refs may have sucked dick, but come on.. It's college, they werent trying to keep UCLA from winning - they're the #2 team in the nation. They made some bad calls towards the end, it's not uncommon. They lost by 10 so I'm not sure how much it could've helped you if you had gotten the calls.
If you wanted to see a terrible called game last night, the Kings and Lakers were a good example. That was a terrible job by the refs. Not todays UCLA vs. Washington game.GO LAKERSGO HUSKIES
Yeah, I agree that UCLA should not have been losing to begin with...it should not have been that close towards the end anyway.

It went from a 2 point game to 7 in a hurry then they just made their freethrows. Again, I am not denying that Washington outplayed UCLA today and that it should never been that close in the first place but the Bruins could have won if it weren't for those questionable calls.
It's absolutely pathetic imo to blame a loss on the refs. UCLA is 10x better than Washington and if UCLA was playing at it's best it wouldn't have come down to that. Instead of having the topic titled UCLA loses because of refs why don't you make it UCLA loses because they got outplayed.

Of course Washington outplayed UCLA...they won. Point being is that the game should not have been close to begin with and the game should not have been close enough so that the refs could change it. Regardless of the refs, the Huskies deserved it.
I read all the posts and in your topic post all you said was how Washington played great but then UCLA came back, but then the refs made bad calls. You also said the refs don't want them to be #1 in the nation. You didn't actually admit UCLA got outplayed until someone called you out on it.

I said the refs weren't going to let them to be number 1 but I didn't mean that as an exact reason. I meant the refs weren't going to let UCLA win the game. Just look at the freethrow numbers. In the last 4:14 minutes left in the game, Washington got a total of 14 freethrows and UCLA got 2. If you watched the ending of the game you will understand what bad calls I am talking about. I already said that Washington played great and they did deserve to win. They outplayed a better UCLA squad therefore they deserve the victory. But that wasn't my point,my point was that the refs seemed lopsided in the last few minutes allowing Washington to edge over the Bruins. Just let this thread die already. I already stated my feelings, others oppose it now move on.
