Here is one idea that is being kicked around by some fans. No rumor to this trade.

    Crabbe & 20 for Booker

Portland saves about $12 million the first season, and dumps the last two seasons of Crabbe’s contract, plus we pick up a serviceable veteran PF on an expiring contract to give Vonley another season to develop.

One of the reasons I'm so interesting in Josh Jackson/High pick rookie is because of salary. If we had Jackson/a long term piece just beginning a rookie contract, then we could indeed dump salary and keep the core intact. Contrast this with getting Paul George (which would be great, but be Repeater Tax 4ever).

Sorry if I missed it, but do you have a reasonable trade idea to land Josh Jackson?

My guess is trading all three of our first round picks would not be enough to move up that high in this draft. DraftExpress has Josh going to Philly @ #3.

i think we should trade crabbe, 15th, 20th, 2019 1st round pick, for orlando 6th pick and mario hezonja. use the 6th pick to get tatum (if he's still available) or jonathan isaac. then with the 26th pick get a pf/c.

    Idea: #26+Crabbe ->Det #12

#12,#15,#20 + one player of their choosing (not dame/cj/nurk) for PG13. Basically, helps us sweeten the pot

Giving up assets to help fix Neil's mistakes?

You act like payroll has a direct relationship to winning.
    They aren't mutually exclusive

NBA teams (including Portland Trail Blazers) are a business first and foremost.
If you can't see/understand the importance of reducing payroll due to the luxury tax for the Blazers, then I can't help you.
The only variable in the equation is if Portland is a realistic contender (which they are not).

No, Trevor Booker with the Nets. Sorry for the confusion.

Crabbe & #20 for Trevor Booker.

Of course I don't, but I have an unreasonable idea! :)
3 picks + Harkless + Aminu to Kings for #5 + random dude... Jackson falls to 5 (which some mocks have him doing).

So Hoopshype uses nbadraft.net as their source for their Mock? ......Didn't they used to have their own?

    http://hoopshype.com/2017/05/30/nba-mock-draft-2017/

These all seem a bit high except Justin Jackson at 19

    15: TJ Leaf
    20: Bam Adebano
    26: DJ Dosier

Justin Jackson at 19? He seems to be slipping

Watching some more Mushidi tonight and he's starting to remind me of a longer, less athletic SG version of Tobias Harris. Similar movement and presence/confidence on the floor. Still don't like his high risk play / loose+high handle and his athletic deficiencies don't allow him to much more than a one-dimensional high volume 3pt shooter on offense either. His frame+length gives him some potential defensively, just not sure he'll be able to keep up with quick guys. Has instincts, but fundamentals are sloppy at times (foul prone).

His teammate Vlatko Cancar is pretty intriguing as well.

Wide framed (w/good length), fluid, bouncy, skilled stretch 4 with nice shot mechanics. Has some physicality in his game and screens really well but needs to still add considerable weight. Has a pretty strong base but upper body needs filling out.

Ok if we keep our picks I don't even know who I'd want at 15. I'm expecting Neil to trade (either up or out) so much I haven't even thought about it lately. Hartenstein is still my boy but he should be there later. Maybe we swing early on Giles?

Man, if that shot ever develops..

Olshey wanted Kirstaps. I think he could easily have Jeanne ranked high on his wish list as well. That shot looks like it can be developed. Add that to the way he runs and protects the rim....yeah Olshey might be interested.
