I assume it's good. I noticed it in the background of the pictures in his home remodel thread.

Meh. If i'm paying 10kish more for a tacoma, i'm just gonna say fuck it and buy a Ford F-150 instead. Those are my favorite anyway and i would be happier with it.

I'll definitely give the nissan a test drive and the dodge ram too. Because they are cheaper options and if i end up liking one at a lower price, bonus for me.

I've been in a tundra semi recently. There is nothing wrong with them. I just prefer the ford at that price.

I did see Ford selling F150s for 22 grand here recently. You may have to be a college grad ex military uber driver with good cholesterol to get that price but still.

I'm pretty sure they were selling new ones for that. Or one new one with no options. Just to get someone in the door probably.

Too bad she won't budge on the minivan thing. I rolled a 92 Caravan as a daily driver for years. Being single, commuting 30-45 miles a day, and using it as my chick magnet. Oh yeah, it had 292K miles on it too. Granted, I had to rebuild the transmission a couple times (for cheap, since I did the whole thing myself). You just can't beat them. Decent gas mileage. Yank the seats out, and you can haul anything. Load up 6 of your friends, and head out to the beach. They are awesome!....

Then, get a cheaper truck too, for your heavy duty stuff. I went old school, with a 79 Chevy Crewcab Dually 2WD. Lots of style. Cheap and easy to fix. Massive power. 7 MPG (yeah, that SUCKS...). Not a clone of what everyone else is driving. Its funny how many comments I get from people, just driving "Beater" around. They love it.

Do you REALLY need a 4X4? If not, then go with the Crew Cab. Otherwise, if you are going to be in situations where you need a 4X4, then the last thing you want is a longer Crew Cab wheel base. Too long, and you'll get high centered. Just my 2 cents....

    (get a new minivan!!!)

It's odd because i know people that think the Nissan Frontier is a tiny penis truck because its smaller. And then you have your huge truck tiny penis commenters.

But no. I dont want a giant truck.

The newer trucks all have short beds. They're really luxury SUVs with a truck bed. I want to get an old 90s Ford pickup. Those things were built like a damn tank. No aluminum. Huge beds.

That was my 88 F250 Clubcab. I loaded that with 5000 lbs of grain seed several times. It never even looked hunkered. Only three things wrong with it; Gas mileage was not good.
Turning radius was huge. Manual transmission was weak and fragile in cold weather. Blew it up twice with no load in sub zero weather both times. I had the next size bigger, for a 350, or 550, put in after the second went to hell.
I would not buy another Ford.

Well that sucks.... but the 90s Fords seem to be really solid. My wife's dad has a F250 that has run forever. I think it has 300k miles on it.

My last rig was a 91 F-150 extended cab 4X4. Great, dependable truck! (that's being said, by a long-term Chevy guy). It was sitting outside our house one night, and a drunk kid T-boned it at 3am. Yup, made like a tank. That thing kept the kid from driving into my daughter's bedroom....

The punk totalled it out. Bent the frame. I made a killing on it from the insurance, bought it back, and resold it! Lol. Gotta love those old Ford's....

Al right! Yes I can see it doing that duty! For Sure!

I have alway preferred the GM trucks. The all served me well. The reason I bought the 88 Ford was I could not find a Chevy or GMC in town with a 5 speed stick at the time.
So, I sighed, suck it up and bought the Ford. The Trany blew up the first time in Smithers BC with -55 deg temperature. Two years later on my Ranch in Eastern Oregon with around -40 weather.
My current Chevy is now in it's 14th year of duty and no problem. Ha! I changed the plugs a couple thousand miles ago. Damn! The spark gap was huge!

Marazul is gonna laugh at me... but I just bought a 2017 F150 supercrew FX4 with a bunch of extra bells and whistles. It's the 3.5L V6 ecoboost and it was special ordered with a bunch of extra stuff, but the guy ended up going with an F350 instead.

We tested a Silverado as well, and we liked some aspects of it, but in the end we liked the Ford better. We also had to get the 6.7' bed. I have no idea why so many people are getting the little 5.5' bed trucks.

We have been wanting a truck for a long time. What finally broke me was that our crappy old Explorer died, and that was our only vehicle that could haul stuff. If you folded down the seats you could actually fit quite a bit in that thing. So without the old "Exploder" we only had the Camry and my 97 Wrangler that I'm fixing up. We tried to make it work, but I got tired of needing other people to help haul stuff. The Wrangler also isn't really a daily driver.

So now we have a new truck. It's funny how many people hate buying a car, but I love it. I love negotiating. It's really the one time where I have all the power. It's a game and I enjoy playing.

I love negotiating too and playing the game in almost everything.

I hate buying a car though. Only because i can't stand car salesmen. Whenever they start with the lies i want to punch them.

I've had major success with Gresham Subaru. They are good salesmen.

And i know someone that works at damerow ford.

So i prefer to stick with those dealerships if possible.
