I like Harkless a lot, and even have a signed jersey. But, some realities:

    1) It would be better for the team to trade Harkless and get value back (a pick?) than it would be to give away a pick to get rid of Crabbe. The team is better with the Harkless trade. Crabbe + draft pick > Harkless - draft pick.
    2) Harkless is a great athlete, but he is entering Meyers territory in terms of having all the opportunity anyone could want, and not breaking out the way we would hope. He is still young, and if we keep him I hope he does because I really like his game. But, so far that hasn't happened consistently. He may never get there, and if he doesn't, then trading him now would be a good move.

And the Blazers don't have to make the trade until they know who is available. And if they don't have to give NY more than 15, then maybe they try to trade up a little more with their other two picks.

First off - I never said ANYTHING about sending out a pick to dump Crabbe. That would be absurdly stupid!
Secondly, Harkless had a pretty good year he just had a disappointing Playoffs. Especially going back to when we got Nurk. But even if Harkless doesn't improve at all, he's good enough for what he's being paid.

If we're trying to trade Moe for a pick, we must have another team ready to help us consolidate. 4 first rounders for either a player or a HIGH draft pick?

We're at $137M without making any moves.

We cut Ezeli loose and the two non-guaranteed contracts and we're down to $128M. Save another ~$8M (it's closer to $10M at $9.7M) and we're down to ~$120M by your numbers. The LT is $122M.

$4M to use on the draft picks' salaries without paying the LT is a pretty big deal.

I'm fine with trading Davis and/or Aminu. But I don't think Harkless is even close to an elite SF in this league at either end of the floor. SF is a position where we could use a serious upgrade.

Exactly. But I wouldn't be upset in the least if we kept Mo.

Me too. He is one of my favorite players. I just want to see him get a bit more aggressive. He looks like he has the tools to be really amazing, but something is holding him back.

Mo played well with Nurk. He was one of the best at cutting to the hoop.

Regardless if we are talking about ET, Crabbe, or Harkless, I think it has become evident that if we are evaluating players on how they play against the Warriors in these playoffs, then there will be a short list of quality players in the NBA. And although I think the Cavs will be a different team in Cleveland, the pressure the warriors are putting on teams offensively and defensively is embarrassing almost everyone.

You just said you liked Hark...

Can you say that about Butters?

    MO can actually play.

Out of everyone, Mo's 3% increased the most with the addition of Nurk.

He meant regular season, since Nurk played 1 game in the playoffs and was a shell of himself.

He was downright awful in the playoffs when we needed him the most. That's a good reason to get rid of the guy - it happens throughout the league, even to players who have pretty solid regular seasons.

Look at the regular seasonsplit after Nurk was acquired. He was shooting like 44%.

    No Butters was awful.

Hark's playoff performance can be attributed directly to his youth and inexperience. That's no reason to get rid of him.
