He is a freshman this year out of New Orleans, and he is easily the 2nd best player on Texas this season. He is leading the Big 12 in assists per game, and he is leading active freshman as well. He might be close to the top of the list for the entire NCAA for all I know....But, he is an incredible basktball player, and you will know that if you see him play. He is a very smart player, hes a great passer, he can get to the basket at will, he can shoot the ball, and he is a good free throw shooter. He is a decent defender, nothing great, but nothing bad....I dont know where Texas would be without this kid. To be honest, this kid is almost as important to the Longhorns as Durant is. He has amazing ball control, he is great under pressure, and always makes the right decision.I think that when he goes in to the draft, he is for sure going to go first round, and MAYBE even lottery. To be honest, I think he is one of the top couple PG's in the nation already, and he is only a freshman. What do you guys think about him? Have you seen him play alot?
The kid is a great player. I really don't think he distributes the ball to his shooters enough (coughDURANTcough), but he's still a great playmaker and a pretty nice scorer, especially for a freshman. Him and Crittenton are probably the two top frosh PGs (might be forgetting someone???)

I think Crittenton has much better size, much better passing skills, and alot more potential than Augustin. But DJ is very important to this Longhorns team and he's being called on as a scoring option and a playmaker, and he's doing a great job..
