Big Al should get Eastern Conference Player of the Week. He's playing out of his mind and we are winning. 24.7 ppg 14.7 rpg 1.7 bpg 54% FG And most importanlty, a 3-0 record. What do you guys think?

I haven't payed attention to any of it all season long, to be honest. However, Al as been playing great lately and I think that he deserves the recognition.
I'd probably give it to Lebron....37 ppg, 4 rpg, 6.5 apg, 2-1...Either BIg Al or J-Kidd would be my 2nd choice. Just to be mentioned for the Player of the Week, is an honor though. He's got a good shot at it. He might win it...<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BrewCityBuck @ Mar 3 2007, 07:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Am I the only one that doesn't give a damn about these weekly awards?</div>Am I the only one who gets annoyed about how you constantly whine in every NBA thread?
Yeah he should definitely win it. He's been playing out of his mind lately. Really hope this stays and he gets even better and develops even more. But yeah, honestly no one really gives a sh*t about these things. Only time I notice them are when they're posted.
God, Al was a beast today, and I guess he's been lighting it up the last few games.. He should be a consideration for MIP even though he shouldn't win it. He's stepped up his game so much, and he's actually been consistant for the Celtics - which is good to see..
^^ Said this in other threads and will say it again. Big Al's improvement has been small compared to guys like Martin, Williams, etc. We all knew he had these skills and he could have very well done this last year. He was just limited by injuries and not getting a lot of touches.

He doesn't need to gain more weight in any way. That would do nothing but slow him down and hinder his quick leaping ability. Al needs that quickness.
Couldn't agree more with this topic. AL has been playing like a monster lately and I don't really give a sh*t about these awards either but it's nice to see someone get some recognition. Al has been incredibly impressive lately. Last night's game against the T'Wolves he was putting succesfull fakes on Kevin Garnett not to mention he has been dominating the boards and has been literally unstoppable when he gets down on the low post. Also, my favorite part of his game, his touch. He is smooth as silk when he puts the ball up in the paint.
