You could very well be right. As I said, I've only seen him play a few times - but because people had been talking about him, I made a point to pay attention and I wasn't impressed. He didn't look any better than Ed Davis' first season with us.

Maybe someday. MAYBE. If that player is ahead of the curve and integrates quickly, then he might even be better than Crabbe by the end of next season...but that's certainly not something to bank on. Maybe he'll fit better than Turner, but it's unlikely that he'd be better than Turner in the next couple years. And it's highly doubtful he'd either fit better, and certainly wouldn't BE better, than Harkless in the next couple years. Harkless fits quite well as a 4th/5th option, especially now that we have Nurk.

But regardless of all that, the point still stands that your proposed trade is an AWFUL use of assets. And no, we CAN'T "easily sign equal or better players" than Turner/Crabbe/Harkless.

So let's see rumors are saying we want to move up an New York is interested in moving down to add more picks... Clearly we are trading for Kyle O'Quin and making a huge salary dump by swapping for melo

I think that's the weird thing about this draft....there's not that much difference in the top 10 or the bottom 20 of the first round...nobody will convince me ever that Ball will be better than Bell...first example

Just not giving up a pick to move a salary. Something discussed in the Harkless thread

To me once you get past the top 6 or so (Fultz, Jackson, Fox, Isaac, Tatum and Smith) the field levels off for the rest of the first round. Not a fan of Ball either. He's in that second tier.

Someone like Monk would be as good if not better than Crabbe right away. You're underrating the 8th pick in the draft.

Its not a wasteful use of assets, because were swapping 3 picks in for one (not wasteful), and the only player were losing that's an asset is Harkless.

Well, neither's game translates well to the NBA but both are hyped up based off basic stats.

KP was ahead of the curve in 2007 picking You Know Who because of his defense over You know who's offense.
