This thread is about why the United States, the greatest army in the world, is seemingly unable to control insurgents in Iraq.The way I see it is that the United States is built to fight another super-power. During the Cold War, our entire tactic was preperation to fight the USSR. However, we still continue that same idea but now its totally different. We weren't aiming for urban warfare then, but more with mass destruction (Missles, Nukes, Etc.)

We have accomplished nothing in the war in the last 2+ years except symbolic things (killing guys who are immediately replaced).And to answer the thread, the US has enough biological weapons to wipe out the earth several times over, and gigatons of nuclear payload, but no ground troops.

We shouldn't be there. Nothing really is being accomplished as Pestilence said. All that's happening is that we are killing some top terrorists that can be easily replaced, but while doing that it's costing innocent Middle-Eastern people and our US troops over there their lives....And now they want to put even more troops over there. It's easy if you are in a republican family to support Bush's doings, but not if you got family over there and there really is no reason to be doing all that we're doing...I just don't like it. If this continues there may even be a draft and I'd like to see you guys supporting the war if you are forced to go, or a sibling is forced to go and they die there for really no purpose whatsoever. We aren't winning anything.

My cousin supports it, and wanted to go.I have thought about joining the air force later on in life. If I had to somehow in 7 years be in a draft, I would do it proudly. Although I doubt this will be going on that long, and I doubt there will be a draft.
I would be proud too if their was a point to the war besides oil and a personal grudge. There's really no threat that they are trying to get rid of.

They made 1 well planned attack yeah, and wasn't it supposed to be Osama and people in Afghanistan who set this up, then suddenly we find ourselves in Iraq going after Hussein and trying to set up their government and then moving on to Iran now too?
So you think getting involved with Iran is a mistake? Iran got involved with us. They have already said they want nuclear weapons and once they get them they will attack the US. Their crazy dictator/terrorist leader said it out in the open. They want to get WMD and bomb Israel along with the US. This is a serious problem...not some unguided plan for nothing. Getting rid of Hussein was a positive move btw.
When did they say they were going to attack the US? I must have missed that. If you are talking about Ahmadinejad, he's not a dictator or a guy with great power. He's just a face and like any radical Muslim, just doesn't like the Jews. I don't expect anything from him.
