If John Collins can extend his shot to a 3-point line, is he a better prospect than Zach Collins? He's been apparently working on that, and already has a good mid-range shot so it's not unthinkable. I think he might be better at many other things.

TJ I am still not that sure about. Actually if we are getting someone like John Collins, getting TJ too could work. I'd like us to get power forward, center and small forward though. One of Collinses, Justin Jackson and Pasecnics/Patton/Jeanne is my perfect draft now. I liked OG but not sure anymore, he seems to have no offense and Jackson is more all rounded.

But who is he moving up for, and what is the point? Are the players available at 10 really that much better than the ones available at 15?

Maybe move up for #7 and get Isaac? I am not sure Zach Collins is that much better than John Collins or even Ivan Rabb or TJ Leaf at their best. Isaac however is elite prospect.

From what I read, John Collins is a one dimensional post scorer who can't really defend and has a relatively short wingspan for his size.

Why do we want him? I'd rather take a flyer on someone like Cameron Oliver.

Most of us don't want him. Some are enamored with his high PER and refined offensive game, but many don't believe it will translate against bigger/more athletic defenders.

Most said the same things about Zach Randolph (doesn't play defense, offensive game won't translate against bigger, more athletic players, etc.).

I'm NOT on the John Collins bandwagon, just pointing out there is more to playing basketball than measurements. Some guys are great athletes, some guys are great at playing basketball, in spite of not being great athletes. Will Collins be the latter? Hard to tell.

Zach was taken with the 19th pick in a pretty solid draft class. Actually, in retrospect, that was a hell of a deep draft class. 18 of the 28 first rounders had NBA careers of at least 11 seasons and six of them (Pau Gasol, Tyson Chandler, Richard Jefferson, Joe Johnson, ZBo and Tony Parker) just concluded their 16th season in the NBA. That draft class reminds me a lot of this one. Not a lot of real superstars, but a LOT of VERY good players. The LAST four players in the first round of that draft were Gerald Wallace, Samuel Dalembert, Jamaal Tinsley and Tony Parker.

In that draft there were a lot of very good players taken after the lottery, late in the first round and even in the second round (six players taken in the second round, including Gilbert Arenas, played at least 10 years in the league). I expect this draft will be similar in terms of quality and depth. So, having three first round picks in this draft is a very good thing. It really improves our odds at getting at least one, and hopefully two guys that stick in the league for a log time.

I'm not high on taking Collins at 15, and don't know if he'll still be around at 20, but it's good that Neil and staff are doing their due diligence and working him out. For a guy like Collins, who doesn't have elite measurables, the workout becomes a much more important part of the process.

Swap OG for Justin Jackson and I'm on board. Actually, scrap it. Get Zach Collins AND Jonathan Isaac somehow. Offer all our picks, our 2018 1st round pick, Harkless, Aminu, Davis - WHATEVER IT TAKES.

There are so many fascinating second rounders this year. A lot of teams are going to do quite well there.

Cam Oliver must really have major lapses in motor/IQ to be rated that low. His physique and basic numbers look outstanding.

We might actually get a decent player from the undrafted pool too, right?

We can't trade all of our first round picks this year and our 1st round pick next year - Ted Stepien rule.

Not that I think it would happen so nothing to worry about but I believe we can provided we get a pick back in the deal.

I think this is true. You have to have a pick. Does not have to be yours.

After listening to Quick's take on the JCollins workout, I believe at least half the posters on the board know way more about basketball than Quick does--but he doesn't realize it.

Isaac and Zach Collins would be worth trading 15 and 20/Harkless for imo. Maybe even Ntilikina. And who knows, maybe we can even package the pick we trade up for with our 26 or another player to move up another spot or two.

I just want to see a photo of Giles in blazers gear. Nothing will look more perfect.
