Furkman Korkmaz, a 76ers' 2016 first-round pick, should be in the Philadelphia area by late this week and could arrive as soon as Tuesday. While Korkmaz, who remains under contract to play for Anadolu Efes in 2017-18 after playing for the Turkish club last season, is expected to scrimmage with some current Sixers and interact with team personnel, the slender 6-foot-6 shooting guard still might not join the 76ers for the upcoming season. "We want to get a better, closer look at him (and) get him in the gym," said president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo on Monday. "I want the coaches to get a better feel for him before a decision is made as to what happens, roster-wise, next year. I think it’s a good first step." Colangelo, who has seen Korkmaz play in person overseas, said Efes is allowing him to come here this summer and the Sixers would like him to play for them in at least one of the July summer leagues, though Korkmaz could end up playing for the Turkish Under-20 team instead. "That would be great for him to be part of (a Sixers' summer league entry)," Colangelo said. - See more at: http://www.buckscountycouriertimes....cle_7baa8343-459f-5594-a31b-53831ad3ab44.html
