His signings last year were great bargains. However, he has yet to show he has the balls to get rid of some of the long time Rangers in order to re-shape the team.

The current problem is this. You need trading partners and at the moment every team in the league is facing the same player protection issue.

As much as I would like to see Staal gone, giving up another first rounder would be a travesty. This draft is supposed to be pretty deep.

Absolutely no trading of draft picks. The farm needs to be re-stocked with new, talent, young forwards. Figure Stepan is gone. Maybe Nash. A couple of years Zucc probably will be declining.

Sell high on Zucc now before he declines.
Find a way to get rid of Staal
    Find a true #1 center

Get Bettman to move Pittsburgh to the Western Confrence lol

not saying yes to do that particular trade but honestly whats a pick at #21 going to get you? draft the kid and IF he pans out it will probably be 2-3 years away? lundqivst is what then 39/40? teams that are currently on the down will be on the rise again (hopefully my devils) but flyers/canes etc. teams at the top the caps and pens will be on the down possibly. its really a tough spot for the rangers with the age of this group. while not old by any means they aren't young either and they have a lot of miles on them. so what do you do? either way i dont think a pick at 21 is going to help this team right now ( i hope i'm right). so ship the pick to clear cap space and sign/trade for someone to bring in to help contend now? problem is the caps and pens will be 1/2 next year figure columbus should be 3. that leaves the rangers fighting the rest of the conference for 2 playoff spots. this format is stupid imo

Once again NJCUP proves he's a dumb fuck. The 25th pick netted us Skjei who makes every defenseman on the Devils look like a pile of horseshit.

congrats and it only took him 5 years to make an impact. guess you missed my part about by the time the player drafted contributes?

go ahead and keep the pick i'm sure lundqvist will be glad you did when hes 40 and this kid maybe might possibly contribute.

lol re-reading what i posted i was actually being kind and giving the kid 2-3 years to develop. you just destroyed your own argument. thanks?

It's not about Lundqvist anymore at this point. You have to do what's best for your team in a long run. Plus they will have the Russian kid who is supposed to be as good as Lundqvist. This team does not have much of farm now, since they have traded so many picks over the last 3 years.

Saw something today that Klein will probably retire or head to Europe.

Yeah, please no more draft picks gone. I'd rather be stuck with somebody than trade picks again.

I saw that as well. I hope so it would save them $3 million in cap space.

Could really help with getting Smith re-upped which it sounds is likely.

It's a bad thing because he's a guy they could deal for a pick with his cheap contract.

Sounds like Vatanen could be on the move to the EC soon(TB/MTL)..wonder what it would take to get MacKinnon here, that would be awesome. 1st, Stepan, Graves, Halverson a starting point?
