    Supposedly 12 are dead with death toll likely to rise. "Witnesses have described screams of terror and people jumping in a bid to reach safety after the blaze ripped through Grenfell Tower. One evacuated resident, Tamara, told the BBC, "People were just throwing their kids our saying, 'Just save my children, just save my children.'"

    Great Britain has entered a period of horribly bad luck!!!!!!!!!! Ras .. Your last picture looks like an industrial plant spewing clouds of toxins. What the hell are the volatile agents in that building!! Besides that, concrete floors should not FAIL like that unless the fire collars around the vertical piping were never installed. That is a fully engaged FIRE. ???No Sprinkler system??? p04s1ms7.jpg

    This just breaks my heart....I feel for all those folks and what a feat for that person to catch the baby dropped 10 floors...wow...I can't imagine having to do that.

    Only one fire rated stairwell with recent renovations including exterior wall cladding. Manufacturer of material and application contractor are probably on notice. Inspectors scared shitless. Sprinklers cover interior unless the tower had exterior decks with sprinklers to help prevent catastrophes. This story will be in fire rescue and training classes the world over. Sad................ lives were lost!

    Truly sad.

    These are the bi-products of recessions. Contractors cut corners to try to save a buck. Government loosens regulations to help business kick start again....

    Ive been in construction most of my life and that building is a catastrophe and should shut not one, but multiple contractors down for good once all the facts are straightened out. That is if the regulations are there. I'm not familiar with Britain policies.
    At any rate, this was absolutely avoidable. This is just a shame.

    I suppose you may be right about contractors. But this looks like a design failure to me, no matter how good the contractors.
