For coming to a sorry ass team at the time as an undrafted player and playing top 2 defense for many years. Shame I believed he played in the finals really hurt and sucked along with the paid off refs. This guy was a warrior. Even last year I thought he was pretty decent most of time. He earned his money. That is for sure. Class guy. Odell should look at this guy as to how he should conduct himself. He's one of the few Rangers I will truly miss. The move had to happen but this was one of the few Rangers that never dogged it. Leetch IMO dogged it for many years after holding up the organization for ransom every f'n contract.

Girardi's tenure as a Ranger D was one of guts and courage, and God knows how many times he took
the ice injured and playing through the pain. Those injuries took their toll on this man and it leaves
the Ranger organization with no other option but to buy him out. I, for one, want to "thank you" for
your service in Ranger red, white, and blue.

He was a great Ranger. His heart and grit will be missed. He played great in the first round and was landing huge hits but he ran out of gas. Maybe a different system and lower pairing will allow him to play longer. Sad to see a long time Ranger go..

Danny had a good run, hopefully playing hurt all the time won't have any long lasting effects. Makes room for Graves though. Hopefully AV's head has popped out and he realizes that the defense needs to get bigger and more physical. Gorton needs to resign Smith too.
