People trying to convince themselves George would actually resign. Haven't we as a fanbase suffered enough? Unless we somehow win the fucking championship it's not going to happen.

I'd trade him now, if I knew for sure he was a goner. Though not necessarily to the Lakers. May as well start the rebuild now, suck next year and get another high draft pick.

I might now more optimistic than ever. We now know they are bound to trade him Thursday, and there's no question we could be one of the best suitors with our combination of players and draft picks. The question now is does the FO want to roll the dice.

Pacers should demand the #2 pick in the draft for him.

Dame: Paul, everyone thinks you want to go to the Lakers, so encourage that thought.
CJ: Yes, it will drive down the price and we can get you while keeping Dame, Nurkic and myself.
PG13: That sounds great. I just want to win! LA has one of the highest tax brackets in the country and they suck.

I still think PG13 would find a nice home here playing with Dame & C.J. and would be worth the risk.

Having Paul on this team is the best hardcore NBA wet dream I can ever have. But sadly it's probably a dream.

Turned Plumlee into Nurk and first, acquired Cle 1st for taking on Varejao contract, got Moe for free and that might get you a worst case scenario of PG for a year in his prime? I have an extremely hard time seeing this from the other perspective. So much twitter banter saying Blazers shouldn't even sniff the deal. I really don't get it. Even if it had to be the #15, #26, and Vonleh I would jump at it.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
My one-act play about Lillard recruiting George:

Paul George: I'm pretty set on going to the Lakers, I think
Damian Lillard: That's a great decision, I'd love to be a Laker. I idolized Kobe.
George: Same! ...I imagine Portland's cool, though.
    Lillard: I guess.

The most frustrating part is I know this deal won't get done but not because we don't have the assets to get it done but because NO will take the "safe" long term approach.

I think we would all LOVE to have PG on our team. Just not as a rental or as a hope and pray we can get him to stay type of situation. If he has any thought of not signing here before we make that trade I would reluctantly pass. He appears to WANT to go to LA. So....

This one may be in Dame and CJ's hands. If they can convince him to stay then do it. But it has to happen before we give up assets. Last year's draft i would have said do it. This year's no way.

So then what you're saying is that you believe two late first rd picks and a mediocre role player gives us a more realistic chance at contending with the players we have now? I'm not trying to be argumentative I just really don't see the other side of this one. Sure sounds like PG wants to be in LA but so many players change their mind about what they think they want after a year. Especially if all they have experienced is a bad culture with no help on the team.

The potential chance that he resigns overvalues the potential of two late firsts and a Moe Harkless/Vonleh to me.

I just thought it was funny to tie this back to the bombshell Sly posted about Lillard's affinity to the Lakers. To me, there's something hilarious about a team's star player not at all sharing the antipathy of his team's fanbase. It would be like if Reggie Miller thought it would be fun to play for the Knicks. Comedy.

Pretty much tanked his value. They waited too late to trade him. Sounds familiar

He didn't say that he wanted be known as the "Greatest Pacer Ever" did he? That would sound even more hollow a promise than Aldridge.
