BOSTON - Carrying the Celtics to a four-game winning streak, Al Jefferson was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday. Over the Celtics last four games, Jefferson has been mostly unstoppable, averaging 23.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game on 55% shooting from the field, posting three double-doubles along the way. And his 32 points (career high) and 18 rebounds against New Jersey Saturday was probably the most of impressive outing of his young career. On the season, Jefferson is averaging 14.9 PPG and 11.1 RPG, and he's in the NBA's Top 10 in rebounding (#7) and offensive rebounding (#4, 3.6 ORB). Jefferson's been impressive since early December, when he kicked off a five-game winning streak with a 29-point, 14-rebound performance against the Nets in New Jersey. Since then, he's amassed 28 more double-doubles and has 30 overall on the season in just 52 games. http://www.nba.com/celtics/news/notes/note...erson-potw.htmlhttp://www.nba.com/news/pow_070305.html
Yup, I made that topic and I'm glad the NBA gave Al the recognition he deserved. Way to go, Big Al! I am so grateful to have a true young star here in Boston. We've been asking for one for a loooooong time, and we finally got one. The beauty of it is that he is a true low post threat, a real threat night in and night out. Oh, he's only 21 years old.
Wow, this is awesome news...holyshit, Al Jefferson is showin them all! Winning this big weekly award. Wow...Go Al! Show em! Respect! Hard work and dedication....you've had one hell of a week! Congrads!

In a season where two legends of your franchise die, you have a record breaking losing streak, and something like this rolls around it makes us Celtics fans happy. It's nice to see the Celtics get some recognition. Keep whining and making wise ass comments in other threads, I bet your waiting on this thread for a response to your wise ass remark because you love the attention.
If it were anyone else I would take it as a joke. But you're always making these flip remarks in threads all over the place. Either that or whining....
Oh my, let's get all our panties in a bunch. Oh my, BCB made a sarcastic comment, he's immature and not as mature as he should be, he should be nice all the time and agree with everything so BBW is nice fluffy and boring....I was just making a joke to bother CB32....which I do everyday....christ.
Congratulations. Al is just a beast in the post, and a great rebounder too. I thought he deseved the award. The Celtics are playing good basketball right now. I think you can say goodbye to Greg Oden if the Celts continue to play like this. I think Memphis is probably the favourite to get Oden right now...

Yeah I started noticing last week what monster numbers he was putting up. I haven't been able to watch a ton of the guy this season but I'm really becoming a fan of him more and more. I can't wait to see him in his prime.
Big AL defiantly deserved this, I know it may not mean a lot this away but the celtics have had a horrible season and at least something is going right, the making of a beast in the post.
