Just listened to the podcast and Lowe did not seem convinced at all that Portland would be able to convince George to re-sign. Arnovitz did, but he has a soft spot for the Blazers.

George would probably be a one-year rental. For that I might give up our draft picks, but none of our star players.

Don't expect national writers to understand how good Nurkic was for us. He's the X-Factor, but didn't have enough of a sample size for national guys to catch on to the transformation the team had with him in the middle.

If we got PG, it wouldn't be our last move. We'd move all-in to try to win and get him to stay. A sign-and-trade with Millsap or Ibaka would be very possible. A trade for Love would be possible. We'd put more around him.

Can't tell if it'd be enough to keep him or if we'd be able to add that PF to complete a studly starting lineup, but I wouldn't expect national writers to be confident in our chance to keep him because it's national writers..

You are setting yourself up to be dissapointed IMO.

I remember the excitement this time last year. Then....Evan Turner. Never again.

A reporter is saying that Paul George's camp are making it clear that George is just a rental. Well. Welcome to the Lamarcus Aldridge situation 2.0, Pacer fans.

The worst case scenario is 3 draft picks which is still better than the last 2 offseasons so the only way I'll be disappointed is if he trades those picks for shitty value.

    Interesting timing for this announcement.

One has to wonder if PG negotiations played a part in that. Gotta think that Cleveland might still want to make a move but there was some disagreement on how.

I would love to see Paul George in a Blazer uni, BUT, not as a one season rental.

PG has hammered his own trade value. I probably would not trade our #26 pick to have him for one season. What would the point be? What would we be building by renting him? It would be wasting a pick.

The Fakers hold a full set of jokers in this poker game. Heck, if they wait one season, they will have him for nothing, the same way the Spurs picked up LaMarsha for nothing. If the Fakers want him this season, I doubt they offer KP much for PG.

As great of a player that PG is, his trade value is next to nothing right now.

Exactly. The only reason to commit to a 1 year rental of George would be if you thought you had a legit chance to win the championship. It wouldn't happen. So why waste a pick?

If there's a chance its not a rental then its a good risk to take.

and now it's reported that Kyle Lowry has no interest in signing back with Raptors. This offseason getting real real interesting. Honestly, it's because of this super team shit.

I'm calling it now. He's going to the Mavs. There's not many teams that will break the bank for point guard this summer.
