LOL, gutting their roster to trade for a guy who wants to play for a contender. So, who will be the Lakers Big 4 to try to knock off GSW? PG13, Swaggy P, Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball? Yeah, that screams 23 wins and a 5th consecutive trip to the lottery. Does PG13 really want to piss away the prime of his career babysitting the Lakers teenagers?

If they are doing all of that to get George and then LeBron next year, George can coattail his way to a title run for a year or two.

Winning is clearly not the #1 priority for him, and that is perfectly fine.

So much of the Lakers young talent is SF/PF. Randle and Ingram would have to be traded or take a big back seat to LeBron and George. Given that, the Lakers would most likely try to trade them as well.

That would be better than what we have, so yes.

But, the thought is Ball, ingram, lebron and george, which still, would be better than we have. No lopez in that.

Great posts! I know you put some thought in the stuff you post, and you've got me sold on the whole thing. Lets just hope things go down like that, and we don't end up on the sideline, like we usually do....

If they bring in PG, the cap hold situation would be difficult. But they bought themselves a bunch of cap flexibility with the move. That's what I was getting at, though. They aren't locked into anything after this move. Good move for LA, really.

If Lakers are looking to move Randell, I'd get in on that. He could be great in our system.

I don't know, BNM, I was really hopeful for PG at one time and thought it possible. And you make some good logical arguments why he should pick Portland. But do we know if he is a sensible logical-thinking guy? Do we even know if winning is the most important thing for him? I don't know him well enough to answer those questions. I am going to have to assume that Wojnarowski knows better than us. I think this is over. KP will take the LA offer because there won't be any better ones.
