I think the trades we make will be players only out or including future picks. The established players we want are on teams not necessarily looking to add draft picks... E.G. Kevin Love with Cleveland. Not saying that's our target but teams in that more competitive win now mode are likely needing depth and established players. Crabbe+Aminu+Future picks could net a fairly valuable piece for us IMO.

Agreed. Although if George goes to Cleveland, I can see Indy wanting a 3rd team to be involved and move Love elsewhere.

Always take a half day on draft day.

FWIW coverage starts at 4 I suspect 1st pick around 4:30

    The Draft is here. :hungry:

Lets go get this generations Lebron, Clyde and Rodman tonight! Anybody care to take a guess at who I am talking about?

If we don't trade for Butler, George or Porzingis.

Was just listening to Mike and Mike and they discussed Love going to a 3rd team, and that team providing Indy with draft picks. We fit that bill. Not sure if Indy would want 4 first round picks this year, probably would have to give a future first.

Wonder what Clippers can get in return for Jordan. This is a move screaming rebuild. I think the best destination for him right now would be Chicago, in exchange for no. 16 pick and a couple of young players (Valentine, Portis, Payne etc.). You are likely to draft a center with no. 16.

I don't think they can get a top 10 pick for Jordan. It's not this type of league anymore. Or maybe you can flip him for Anthony + no. 8? That'd be a great deal for Clippers I feel. Nobody else in top 10 is IMO likely to even look at Jordan.

If we didn't have Nurkic I'd be all for Crabbe + Harkless + picks. Makes perfect sense for Clippers, Crabbe fills in for Redick who is in free agency, Harkless fills a great void in small forward position and picks can be used to get Allen, Patton or other center.

I still have hopes for Butler; I think they want to trade only with western teams. However if Minnesota offers their #7 (and I think they should), then no chance for us.

I still think there might be some kind of crazy trade with NY to get to #8, but it will depend on who is available at 8. Chance of us making a trade for impact player or getting to 8 or higher seems slim.

#7 is way too low for Butler. They'd have to add Wiggins or LaVine for this to make even slightest chance for Chicago. Chicago were crazy about Dunn last season but not sure if they still have huge interest in him after his disappointing first season.

    Either Wiggins + #7 pick or LaVine + Dunn + #7.

Why hasn't Neil offered CJ and 3 1st's for Kristaps yet?! No team can beat that offer... Can you imagine a front court of 7'3" Porzingis next to the Bosnian Beast for next 10 years!

Dunn screams bust. He seems to be Jonny Flynn 2.0

Not sure it should take all 3 firsts. CJ is the much better scorer and much more efficient shooter while KP is obviously the better rebounder (better be) and defensive player. CJ is an elite level shot creator/maker. His offensive game is amazing. Just not sure he pairs that well with Dame. Would have to seriously consider swapping players. With CJ's Poison Pill status, that might have to wait until after July 1st.

For many months I kept reading this forum and this post made me register - same place, same dilemma ;)
Although I never watched draft, this one seems to be interesting as Blazers need to figure out the direction for next couple of years with this roster and cap situation.

    Keep believing...

So trading for a player with the highest upside in NBA is stupid but paying 50 mil per year for two 6'3" guards with no defense is smart?

IMO, it wasn't trading CJ but more the adding 3 first round picks + CJ that they questioned.

My point is when a player like Kristaps, who has no business being available in trade becomes available, you do whatever it takes to get him... I threw out a package that I don't think other teams can beat... and still keeping Nurkic and Lillard
