We're definitely about to find out how badly he wants it. He just hit a new milestone: he's here now. That's going to be a big test. Can he hold it together?

I've looked him up a little more today, properly excited now. If he can slightly improve his defence, he could become a monster. What we also need to recognize is how fast his development has been, he's gone from being completely unfit and incapable of any sports to one of the best NCAA players in a matter of what, 3 or 4 years?

Excited about him coming here. With two talented bigs, good days ahead!

I think this means Ed Davis is gone.

I mean new. There's 4 of them on the roster currently in total.

I'm surprised we did not try to flip him for a 2nd rounder this year.

I want to see more of his talents with a NBA assistant professional coach at the helm.

Seems like a bad fit in todays NBA. I really hope I'm wrong

    I'm not surprised at all.
Ignore the "log-jam" many thought Portland would have at the 4/5 last year... Which never materialized due to injuries.

Majority of the self-proclaimed experts on this board believe Davis & Aminu suck ass, and have no value in the NBA.
I doubt that is the general consensus around NBA GM's. Especially given their contract.

So I'm not surprised Davis & Aminu weren't thrown away. Just like although it pains me to say so. I'm not surprised Nards was just thrown away either.

I meant this more as a move to reduce our salary. $7M is not much but it helps us get close to the tax level, and I'd like to give minutes to Vonleh and two new folks, as much as I like Davis.

I think it's realistic though that we'll flip him for someone who we'll have use for. I'd not mind getting another guard through trade as I don't think Napier is all that.

    I suppose.
I just don't really think being over the cap is as big of an issue as people on this board have made it out to be.
Allen has said he'll go over the cap if it makes logic to do so.
NO has said money is never an issue with Allen.
Yet this board acts like the sky is falling because Portland is over the cap.

From the sounds of NO's presser, Allen would have tossed more money into the team last night if they didn't use it to acquire Nurk.

    • Better shooter from '3' than Markkanen.
    • Best passing big man in college basketball.

With all the other things this kid has gone through, I believe he can improve his defense as well.

I can definitely see him turning into a more skilled Michael Cage.
