Stoked to see Caleb go beast mode on some lower level talent during SL Welcome aboard; bring that work ethic and you will be rewarded
Good post, welcome to the forums! You're right, this could end up being the most exciting summer league we've had in a while. While I doubt they ask Noah to attend, if he does I think he's finally ready to destroy everyone out there. I'd like to see him play 1-2 games at a high level, but again I doubt he does.
@Fonzthecpt1 - Thanks! I have actually been a "closet viewer" since 2006, just really never posted before. I agree that Vonleh will destroy if he attends, but I kinda hope he doesn't just so we can see Caleb go HAM.
Personality-wise, he seems similar to Dame. I think Dame is going to really love this kid and take him under his wing to see that he succeeds.
@blue9 - I agree that Dame will likely help motivate him, however I am really intrigued to see the flame reignite in Dame when he sees just how motivated Caleb is! All in all, glad PA has deep pockets, 'cause them lights gonna be on all night in Tualitan #Hungry
Totally agree. Listening to his collage coach and team mates speak of him, they all regard him as being motivating in his approach to the game on and off the floor.
@Strenuus - Lol, I wish man. I am an Oregon boy born and raised, never played outside the HS level. Just excited for this 2017-2018 season, and enjoy seeing determined talent on board.
With all that he has overcome in his life, and his work ethic, I think it's hard to imagine him not succeeding in the NBA. To what level remains to be seen, but I don't think we'll be disappointed with this pick.
I waa surprised by the pick, honestly. I hadn't done all of my homework on the guy. He seems to have a bit of an old school mentality to the game, which is good. Kind of a cross between Vonleh, Milsapp, Jarian Grant, and Craig Smith. It seems like he really needs to work on his foot speed to really shine and become more like Milsapp and less like The Rhino. It seems like he had fire and work ethic though, and those are things you can't teach. Working with Mr fire him self, (dame) could be a really good thing.
Agree. Swanigan will give the team 100%, because that is the only way he knows how to do things. I know he is still young, but with his drive to meet goals regardless of the time and pain it takes. And his high personal values. He will become one heck of a good role model for the local kids. He will be a great addition to both the team and the community.
Every one mentions "Foot Speed" , I doubt that he ever will be accused of be svelte, yet based upon the progress he has made in such a short time, I am not that worried. Lots of slow guys have done rather well.
I thought of JK yesterday and totally agree except that Kersey was not a very good shooter when he came to the Blazers.
