Again Smush fucks the Lakers over and misses 4 of 6 free throws down the stretch. They left Blount wide open 3 times in a row. They got 3 turnovers in the overtime periods, that's ridiculous. This team isn't going anywhere. Smush needs to go, and Lamar needs to go. They could get a nice second option in a package of those two this summer.

Please don't blame this all on Smush. The blame should go on Mo Evans for being an idiot and Sasha for being an idiot. 2 lazy passes when the game was on the line. Kobe needs to just say screw this team and take over and go crazy like he did when he scored 81. Won't happen tommorow probably, because we got back-to-back games but Friday, Kobe better score 50!

They tried real f*cking hard to lose but, it took Minnesota 2 Goddamn overtimes to finally oblige.

They started off 15 and 6 and even with the injuries to Odom and Kwame (and Mihm) were 30-19. But huge injuries for Lamar, Luke, and Vlade have pretty much F*cked the team over. I'll admit they're not playing well even with the circumstances but for God's sake-Chris Mihm has been out for the seasonKwame was out for 2 months (and the first 7 or 8 games)Odom was out for 2 months and is gonna be out another 2 months (the rest of the season)Vlade's been out for a month and will likely miss the last 2Luke's been out a month and a half and there's no return date in sightMajor injuries to substantial players (all 5 are in the top 7 or 8 in the rotation) have sucked the life out of this team.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Something-To-Say @ Mar 8 2007, 01:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>That's the thing about lakers fans. He also played with heart and came up pretty clutch. I generally don't get mad at the players who look like they're giving it their all and busting their asses. That's why you'll rarely see me get mad at Kobe, Ronny, or Mo (or Sasha sometimes). It's the times when players play lackadazical, uninspired, stupid basketball that pisses me and other Lakers fans off. That's why you'll see us yelling at Smush and Lamar so much, and not at Kobe.

I should really start a 'is smush underrated' thread. You act like he's the worst player in the NBA. I think he could be a solid PG on a REAL team.

Cmon...we all know you are just saying that to make the Laker fans here look like they don't support their players. We both know Smush is potentially the worst starting point guard in the NBA. Who are you kidding?

Smush shouldnt even start Phil should put either Sasha or Shammond they've been playing better than him during these losing streaks....

If he didn't have the talent he wouldn't be so hated among the Lakers fanbase. It's just that he has such bad habits and makes so many bad mistakes. He's not slow by any means so he shouldn't be a bad defender. But for a year and a half we've had to watch him 4-5 times a game either let his man go by him and slap at the ball or take a swipe when his man is in front of him and get called for a foul. He only actually gets the steal about 10% of the time, so it's frustrating. He's a fairly good outside shooter (streaky but still above average) so he should be a good free throw shooter. He's a point guard and he's shooting around 60% from the line. He's a liability at the end of games, in the Minny game (of which this topic is referring to) he missed 4/6 down the stretch. You can't have a starting point guard who can't shoot free throws. He also just has huge confidence problems. Once he starts doing bad, it's like he can't regroup. He beats himself up and starts playing worse and worse. You're a Suns fan, you saw what he did last year in the playoffs. He collapsed after Game 3. He's the reason the Lakers lost that series.
