I for one am not a Spurs fan, I don't like their style of play, I think they're too old.And I think that the rest of the West elite knows how to beat them in the Playoffs. But, they are still 43-18, and they've won 10 in a row. I don't like to admit it, but they are still a dangerous team. Could they get back to the Finals?
Yeah lol I wont be sleeping in them.... when u think about it I wouldnt sleep on them either. But 4 real don't sleep on them. When it comes playoff time, I'm sure they will play better than they are now. The only problem is that other teams are getting much better faster than the spurs. The spurs just seem the same to me for this year as they were the past few years.
Why would you sleep them anyways? It's not like they had a significant dropoff from last year, they took Dallas to 7 games and it came down to the wire. This year, their still on track for a good season and will be ready come playoff time.
The other thing to notice is that the spurs are resting all their players, we have yet to see what they can do when they play their players minutes
As Rudy T once put it "never underestimate the heart of a champion". trust me, no body wants to have to face them in the playoffs, they are capible of beating both Dallas and Phoenix in a series. and one thing they do a lot that neither Dallas or Phoenix wants to deal with, is banging inside. the Spurs love to play physical and thats going to drive Dallas and Phoenix crazy, especially Phoenix.
Nobody on here is underestimating the Spurs, except for Suns fans who continually say "The Suns will beat the Mavs and win the Title" most without much mention of the fact that they'll have to beat the Spurs first to get to the Mavs, lol.
It's like a 60-40 the Suns win against the Spurs. Either way, whoever wins that series has a strong disadvantage going against the Mavs, so it's not like the Mavs are all that great for beating whoever wins the tough Suns-Spurs match up.
Of course we shouldn't sleep on the Spurs. They have won 2 rings in the past 4 years, still have all of their parts, and are picking up steam and playing their classic lockdown defense. If they were to win the Finals, I wouldn't be surprised whatsoever. But for the record, I still think Mavs and Suns have edge over them.
Spurs are the last team you want to sleep on...They might not have the best record in the NBA but they definitely have the most experience come playoff time...
Yeah I agree. The spurs will be tough but I would also put the Suns and Mavs over them. I feel the suns and spurs would go 7 if they met.
I have absolutely no idea why people are counting them out of the championship hunt. Everyone is acting like Dallas and Phoenix will easily blow out anybody they play... well, no. San Antonio is still one of the best teams in the NBA, without question, and I do not understand why people are acting like they aren't anything to worry about. In my opinion, the Spurs have just as good a chance as winning the title as Dallas.I just saw them discuss this on Around the Horn, and 2 of the 4 panelists were complete idiots. They said exactly what others have - Dallas has this locked up no problem, all of the other teams are raw meat. Idiots...

For me, its about 50/50 between the Spurs and the Suns. For one, the Suns have injury problems almost all the time. Although some of them are small, they always seem to have a player out in the playoffs for some reason. Also, the Spurs have been tested in the playoffs and have overcome that test. Last year, the Spurs and Mavericks series could have gone either way, and the Spurs just played dumb in crunch time. I say that if the Suns play the Spurs, its going to be a good series, and I dont know who I would pick. But, of course dont underestimate the Spurs. They have one of the best trio of players in the NBA, and they have proven themselves in the playoffs before. Nobody is going to underestimate these guys.

Utah will have some losses, while the Spurs look like they aren't going to lose again, and even if they do, they'll stay hot like the Mavs, lol.

They are among the most fun teams in the league for me to watch, just because they are a good team. What can I say, I'm a sucker for good basketball. They are by no means one of my favorite teams, as only the Bobcats have that placed reserved in my heart, but they are I enjoy watching them play. Anyways, their style of play is fundamental, and good, and I really enjoy watching it. They like to run the ball through Duncan and Parker, which is not a bad combo, Parkers ability to get to the rim mixed with Duncan's ability to play close to the basket but also play extended out to the free throw line and run that high post offense causes this team to be a good team offensively. Defensively they are one of the best teams in the league, anchored by Tim Duncan, and I love to watch defensives teams. I enjoy watching this team every time I get a chance. As to the question, of course they a dangerous team and my pick to make it to the finals out of the West, and win the finals this year. You would be foolish to think they are not a contender this year.

They're still dangerous though, that's for sure.
Suns keep getting screwed in the playoffs, Joe Johnson hurt in 04/05, KT and Amare out last year, god knows it'll be Nash this year >:/
