I'd give it a B. I would have liked to see: * Trying to foist Wallace on Boston the way Seattle did with Ray Allen. Boston reeks of desperation and someone came along and took advantage of it. Do that and we could have grabbed Yi too. * Buying that Phoenix pick could have gotten us Splitter :| * Curry... I don't really like the Curry pick. A 6'3" guy who does nothing but shoot and a drug dealer to boot. Yuck. How about we just sign up Pargo or trade a bag of balls for Salim Stoudamire instead? We'd get all the abilities, plus more experience and no downside. In my stats analysis of college guys, he came out as one of the least efficient guys around. Ick. What I liked seeing: * We stood pat and got two guys who I didn't think would be there for us and who I think will be quality players. * Noah's a clown, but he can play and fits our style great. Yeah, we'd all like a big guy who can score 30 a game, but there just wasn't a guy like that on the table for us. * I don't know why Gray fell but I figured him as a guy who was sure to go in the mid to late 20s. Athletically I think he could still stand to lose another 10lbs, but I look at him and see a guy who knows how to play, is strong as an ox, fairly nimble, and as salo points out, can actually get off the ground. His footspeed sucks (which is why I'd like to see him lose a little moe weight), but I don't see any reason he can't play. At a minimum he's 6 hard fouls, but I think he's got a real chance to be better than that.
As I see it, the Bulls were an incredibly short team last year, and they did address that glaring problem. PJ Brown was the only really tall guy on the team last year at 6'11. His issues were age and that he could barely jump. Luol Deng at SF was basically the tallest guy with any ability. We didn't even have any near 7-footers on the bench to use in spot situations.
All of the team's real scoring ability was confined to Gordon, Deng, Hinrich, and Nocioni. Nocioni was hurt for a long stretch. Skiles was so desparate for scoring off the bench that he stubbornly would have either Gordon (early) or Nocioni as 6th man. When Nocioni went out, we had to look to Adrian Griffin (basically) for offense off the bench. Or Malik Allen.
Coming into this offseason, I'd say the Bulls needed 3 guys who play big, a post scorer, a big guard, and some bench players with offensive skills.
There was a lot of hype about this draft. If true, Green could well be a decent enough player to say the Bulls got 2 of those 3 bigs. JamisOn Curry addresses the bench players with offensive skills problem.
I liked the Noah pick. The other two, I'm ambivolent about until I see some contribution.
Considering there were picks to be bought or had for peanuts and we didn't go after them, I have to say the draft was a C.

http://sportstwo.com/ViewText/256033
LOSERS
CHICAGO BULLS: The Chicago Bulls have put together a stellar young squad. But it does not seem No. 9 pick Joakim Noah quite fits in. Noah is an intangibles player, but the Bulls have Andres Nocioni. Noah is athletic, but Chicago has Tyrus Thomas. Noah is smart, and that's where Kirk Hinrich comes in. He can be a reliable scorer, but Ben Gordon has that job down pat, especially in crunch time. Defend? Ben Wallace can do that. So why did the Bulls select Noah? Probably because you cannot have enough players who possess all of those skills. But the one thing Chicago needed was a post player who can score with his back to the basket. The Bulls been rumored to be after Memphis' Pau Gasol, and many thought that when they failed to acquire him, they had missed their chance to take the Eastern Conference in 2006-07. Noah cannot take over games with polished post moves. Spencer Hawes, who was taken one pick later by the Sacramento Kings, can. The Bulls' brass will argue that they nabbed Pittsburgh 7-footer Aaron Gray in the second round. But Gray is slow-footed and will struggle to get his shots in the NBA. Chicago missed the boat - again. GRADE: C-

I really like Noah, he should be able to help right away.

At the very least he is a trading asset.

Congrats for drafting a man with horrible tastes. Where did he got that suit?
And how did his mom (former Miss whatever) spawn something that?
-Petey

Watch 200 Bulls fans jump down my throat for baiting now!
Booyah suckers! Can't! w00t, what a wonderfull place S2 is!
-Petey

I like Noah as a good big off the bench, solid selection. Playing next to Wallace and Thomas is going to make him look like a big steal IMO.
