Giving away 2018 first round pick means they have no chance to get rid of Ryan Anderson's deal now though.

Dekker, Harrell, and the pick have value but over all not a great haul for LA.

They might have small value but all in all I'd expect a few of them to be waived/let go for next to nothing soon. I wonder what Clippers do from here. They should probably do the same with Griffin and then seek a buyer for Jordan. They cannot really build a great team around Jordan, in today's NBA he is an addition to a functional side rather than the true star and number one option. Things don't look great for them.

OK now they are saying on LA radio that when Jerry West came in he advised them not to give CP3 the super max deal for his 5th year ......since he will be 38. Chris Paul got offended and decided to leave. Not sure I buy that theory but it is out there.

So far, things are going great for us (aside from not getting any star in a trade).
So this is the situation with our rivals:

    -Clippers: Gone.
-SAS: our undercover agent (codename: "Tex"), is ruining this legendary organization from the inside. He's their 2nd best player and no one wants him there = he's going to get traded for young guys. In addition they might lose Patty Mills and Tony Parker is breaking down.
-Utah: Might lose both Hayward,Hill and even trade Favors this summer. If they lose Hayward then they'll probably give up on Hill and that would make them a bottom tier team again.
-Memphis: One year older and already over-dependent on old players. they need to re-sign several guys. Becoming less of a threat as time goes by.
-Rockets: Added CP3 but lost good role players. Still needs to be lucky with the health of Paul,Gordon and Anderson.

The Wolves will probably get better, but not necessarily better than our guys.

Fans have long memories. I am guessing the Jazz-Rocket battles from the Stockton- Malone years.
So basically the same reason I hate them.

I think the 2nd seed is going to be wide-open.

Hopefully Aldridge, Griffin, Hayward, and Hill go east.

I still don't think the T'Wolves will be a top 6 team in the West as Lavine was a far better fit offensively than Butler and they still only have two good NBA players. (Wiggins is the most overrated player in the league).

I don't know what's up with the Spurs but I think that this will be the start of a decline for them.

Houston got better, but how much better? They lost important role players and added an extremely ball-dominant player to play next to an extremely ball dominant player.

Spurs will likely retain the 2nd seed

Aldridge isn't going anywhere, Griffin if he is traded is likely headed east, unless the Spurs trade for him and send Aldridge to LA. If so see above. Hayward will be a Celtic. Hill will be traded to the Blazers

Looks can be deceiving an older Parker and Ginobli are still putting up numbers...Kawhi Leonard will keep them contending, even with LaMartha

Houston got better, and they are trying to trade for Carmelo or Paul. They wont get Paul, I think he is headed to Cleveland. So its Melo, but the Knicks are fighting a buyout and want a trade. The Rockets have been busy amassing fringe players to finish the trade for Paul and to have pieces to complete another for Melo or George. But, do the Rockets have assets the Knicks want...i'm not so sure. Still Knicks have to pull the trigger sooner or later. If the Rockets can get their shit together and Harden and Paul can get their shit together they will be up for the 2nd or 3rd seed.

I think the ball-dominance aspect is overstated. If Dame and CJ started out on separate teams, each of them would be perceived as similarly ball-dominant. Yet we've seen how much better the offense flows when they're both in together as contrasted with when one is on the bench. Do we honestly believe that Harden and Paul are less able to coexist than Dame and CJ?

The Blazers are currently the second best team in the west. Can you believe that? We have 3 legitimate stars (Dame, CJ and Nurkic) and one up-and-coming super star (Collins). I wish we could trade Turner for Batum to play the SF position.
Yes, the Bench needs help. How about getting Wes Matthews back?
