<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>March 7, 2007CBS SportsLine.com wire reports CLEVELAND -- The Browns finally tackled Jamal Lewis.Unable to reach a deal to remain in Baltimore, the free-agent running back signed a one-year deal on Wednesday with Cleveland, the team he blistered for an NFL single-game record 295 yards in 2003. Lewis was released last week in a salary-cap move by the Ravens, who elected not to pay their career rushing leader a $5 million roster bonus. He'll now join the Browns, Baltimore's AFC North rival, who were last in the league in rushing in 2006.</div>http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10045847I like this for the Browns as they now have a powerful down hill runner that can also move with a little bit of speed. The Browns like many other teams are making strides to get better, and with Crennel as coach, and that defense getting better, this is a boost to the offense. For Jamal Lewis I think it's funny, get cut, and choose to go to your former teams rivals. I'm sure he will have both games against the Ravens circled, and be ready to play those weeks.
lol what an idiot. Who would play for the browns? Where's cavsrules when you need him? Now they can draft Smith #1 hahah
Since the rumors, this was predictable. I think its awesome. Browns getting a big name player.Adrian Peterson is next

This team has THE worst offensive line in the NFL. If the Browns were really making strides to get better they would build up their offensive line and land a consistent quarterback. How can any offense be consistent with the way they flip flop quarterbacks. Tim Couch, Jeff Garcia, Trent Dilfer, Kelly Holcomb, Charlie Frye. And is Frye even going to cut it? This team is a mess I feel bad for Romeo.

Browns can now have a 1-2 punch while getting Peterson. I'd love them to trade away Frye+RD for a pick. And then draft Troy Smith 2-3.
1-2 punch? What does upgraded their offensive line more mean? When did they make any signings of any relevant linemen to "upgrade" it? Also Jamal Lewis is on the downfall of his career and they signed him to a one year deal? What good does that do? I don't see that helping especially when you still don't have an offensive line.
The Browns signed Eric Steinbach from the Cinny this off season. Pretty good job, 1st day of free agency we got him. Thats a upgrade. We are also working on fixing the defensive line too.Lewis isn't gonna be nothing outstanding, but from what I have been hearing he is gonna work his ass off. Getting AD would be the best thing to do, after trading Ruben to the Giants for Tim Carter, the only pick there is AD.
