He can do everything, and has shown time and time again that he is the best in the NBA and is a real athlete. Do I think he should MVP this year? possibly. But there is no question in my mind that Kobe is the best in the NBA in terms of credentials and other things.As for him vs. MJ. He is the best ever, no question, 3 MVP's, all defense, 6 titles, scoring titles, loads of all star games, 10 all NBA's, sure Kobe is like Mike, but no question Mike is the best ever.

It's all opinion, and you can make somewhat a case for about 5 other players being the best in the league.Personally, I most certainly agree that Kobe is the best in the world. He is the best scorer in the league, most clutch, great defender, very good playmaker, good rebounder, and has become a great leader. hard to go against a guy like that.As for MJ, Kobe will never be at MJ's level unless he does some otherwordly things in the next few years, and can win another few rings.

Also because they call him a ball hogger. But what can you blame him for. He's there to help his team wins, and he does what he does best. Everything you said about Kobe can be said of Duncan (All-NBA, MVPs, championships, personal stats...) and the one very important thing that sets the two apart (and the reason IMO why Duncan is still the best in the NBA) is that he has proven he is a leader of a championship contender where as that is something Kobe still has to prove in order to be "the best".

Kobe because of his quickness can play Tim Duncan's position, but try inserting Duncan at the SG. He can't shoot as well Kobe, and Kobe is better overrall. Sure Duncan has the rebounding advantage, but Kobe is the clear better player.
