Shattenkirk's camp tells Frank Seravalli that he hasn't decided where he will sign yet.

Still wide open, but I do truly believe Gorton is not looking at any of these 6 or 7 year deals that kill teams.

I can tell you that the reported deal between Rangers and Shattenkirk is not accurate.

Alzner to the Habs for 5 years 23 mill (4.6 per). Crazy stuff. Already the Smith deal looks good. One less year and 250 K less per season.

Bonino to Nashville for 4 years. Again crazy.

Weekes now tweets that the Rangers are talking to Shattenkirk as well as other players.

Weekes jumping the gun. These guys are too quick to try and break news. Then end up putting their foot in their mouth.

I am also fine with the Pavelec signing. Should be a solid backup for us. 300 K more than what Raanta was scheduled to make. Former starter. Has ability. Peg had big struggles the past couple of seasons. Should be good to get a fresh start as a backup with BA coaching him and Hank here to help him.

Shatt has always wanted to be here.

I would go 6/39 take it or leave it. He's not worth 7 anyway.

I couldn't disagree more. Give me a higher AAV for 4 years rather then locking him up for 6 long years until he is 34. No way. I just don't see Gorton giving out a 6 or 7 year deal to Shatt, and rightfully so.

Who knows what it is about. One thing was clear, if Shatt wanted years and AAV he wasn't going to be a Ranger. That continues to be the case I think. I would be fine with 4 years only even with a higher AAV.

As for Weekes, he has backtracked now, so we are back to a guessing game, and it will come down to the Rangers or getting the most money. We'll see.

Still don't see how they can add Shatt going forward. Too many RFA's to sign the next few years. Nash is coming off but it's not enough. They have to find a way to get rid of Staal.

After next season they can buy Staal out, he'd have the same amount of years left that Girardi did this summer. And we'll get the 7.8 of Nash opened up as well.

Now Brooks reporting Shatt will take a lot less to come here

I think 4/28 is the deal

Shattenkirk is reportedly willing to leave money on the table to play for the Rangers. (Brooks)

Yes...higher AAV...4 years max I think if he comes here...agreed Disturbed.

I just can't see him doing only 4 you'd probably at least have to go 5. Plus it's not like Girardi who was already starting a downtick when he re-signed. This guy can probably give 5 solid years.

11:46AM: Larry Brooks says that as of now Shattenkirk is weighing all options and has not yet decided on a team.

11:46AM: Bob McKenzie said on TSN that the Rangers are in on Shattenkirk and don't want to go past 4 years with Shattenkirk.

It's about the years...4 max for Gorton. Higher AAV. Or Shatt takes more years and a similar AAV from Buffalo or NJ. This was always going to be his decision. Sure we'll know soon.

TB would surprise me with Girardi signed, and the fact that Shatt turned down their deal at the trade DL.

To me seems like us for less years or NJ/Buffalo for more years.

Money says he'll take the years from NJ/Buffalo, but maybe he wants to be a Ranger that badly.

Sounds like Boyle to NJ for two years. Good move, but not sure why he'd want to play in NJ unless the money was big for those two years (maybe no other team offered more than one year).

What's the actual Devils offer 7y/49?I don't get why Gorton can't go 5.
