We are not a good team to dump contracts to.

Millsap is huge for the Nuggets and seems a great fit next to Jokic. I suppose they dont bring back Gallo and they go with Chandler as the starter. If they get Hill too its really scary in my opinion because his off ball ability makes him a great fit too.

I am not scared of Denver. They are a good team but a 32-year old Millsap at $30M a year is not that brilliant business IMO. He's actually going to turn 33 before the regular season even ends, and I won't be surprised if he's declining significantly in the next 1-2 season. George Hill would IMO be more important for them but even then, they have Mudiay and Murray who they need to develop in the same position. I still think for them the most important part for the next 3-4 seasons is develop Murray, Harris and Jokic.

Mudiay is done, they are looking to trade him while Murray will be the primary backup which is what he should be in a team targeting the offseason.

The problem for us is that even a declining Millsap is a really huge acquisition for them if you compare him to Faried. He is a big upgrade over someone that just rebounds the ball and catches lobs. Millsap doesn't have to be on All Star level to be useful. Harris-Jokic getting better by the day too. Harris must be one of the most underrated wings in the league. If they get Hill too then I suppose next season we don't even reach the offseason. That's my opinion at least if we don't make any moves.

Yeah, I am far from convinced we will make playoffs next season to be honest. None of the teams who finished above us except Clippers are getting worse. Utah will get worse if Hayward leaves but that's a big if at this point. And Clippers without Paul and Redick will be considerably worse but if Griffin stays fit, they are still quite good.

Below us, New Orleans are going to be much better than last season because Cousins and Davis will have got more time together. Minnesota will be absolute miles better with Butler, Teague and Gibson. Denver will be considerably better. Even Dallas will be better than last season with Noel having had 6 months at the team and Smith probably being a better point guard than any of their last seasons options.

We basically threw away any chance of being competitive in free agency for the next 3 years last year with our moves. I don't buy 'there was no choice' attitude.

BTW out of curiosity, what's the benefit of extending a player year early like we did with CJ? Even if he accepts another offer next season, he's a RFA so you can match it and keep him. What's really the danger of not giving him that deal a year early, especially if you can trust that player to stick with you anyway (like CJ would and Dame would also have done last season)?

theres rivalry coming between POR & DEN, thanks to Nurk and salty DEN fans

but I feel sorry for DEN fans that dont understand, trash talk is all NBA thing, its what makes this sport more interesting and entertaining, nothing personal...

its two way street, thats how it works

The west continues to get stronger at the expense of the East.

The East might only have 4 teams finish above .500 next year. If that doesn't happen, it's only because their records were elevated playing amongst each other.

Last year, seeds 5-8 were a combined 4 games over .500, and 3 of them lost their best player.

Is it their plan to have 6'8 Paul Milsap play center and guard Nurkic?

They have nothing but high hopes. Jokic is gonna get destroyed again. They traded the wrong Center.

    Nurkić > Jokic

    Nurk actually plays D.

maybe they think Jokic & Millsap can guard him together, what Dame & CJ would love so much

Milsap will start at PF. He eats scrubs like Vonleh alive in the post. Nurk vs. Jokic is a push since they have different skill sets. There's no good answer for Milsap on this roster unless one of the rookies really surprises early.

We shall see. It wasn't exactly a push at their first meeting last year. Unless by "push" you mean push Jokic so far out of the play that he can't do anything.

Then been scouting Nurk for 3 years this guy is not a rookie. The only teams have stop him is when he was on the bench or when he was hurt.
