Multiple reports are stating they might be considering exploratory surgery on his ankle since here has been little improvement.

...Mess, I'm not at all surprised by this...I said a couple weeks ago that we may never see Bird again...it certainly doesn't look good.

...I know there's options at 1B out there, including trades and FAs but maybe the Yanx should consider converting Sanchez or Judge to 1B next year as a long term solution...we know how much of a beating catchers take and even though Judge plays a very respectable RF position, with his height and reach he could cover a lot of ground at 1B and injury risk-wise he'd be safer at 1B...and let's face it, finding another RFer shouldn't be very hard.

    ...just spitballing.

Bird, coming on earlier than the pack of kids arriving in '16. Had great success and quickly became a fan favorite. Despite his circumstances many are hoping he can get back on the game track. In the meantime the Yankees have to make a move on first base. Cannot believe the stupidity of the front office moron who insists on keeping Carter. Ship his ass back to Milwaukee when they come in this week.

You don't want to say never but this will now for the most part be two straight seasons lost. Sad in that they still have no clue what's wrong with him.

If the exploratory surgery shows nothing as have the rest of the other tests they performed thus far the kid may be a hypochondriac. I suspect that the surgery will show a problem that was unable to be picked up by the tests they've run so far for some reason. They need to get to the bottom of whatever the hell is bothering this kid. In the meantime bring mike ford up who is doing well in triple A at first and give this kid a shot already. CARTER BLOWS!!!
