He averages better in every single stat except blocks and 3pt percentages. Bargani is like 7'0 and roy is 6'6 and still averages more rebounds per game than him.I love how RaptorFan#1 try's to make bargani look better by putting his stats from the last 3 games up. They mean nothing.Roy for ROY
Why would you post the last 3 games? Its not like that is going to persuade any of us to pick him. I would go with Brandon Roy. He is averaging more rebounds than Bargnani and he is a hell of alot shorter. That is pretty weak. Hes scoring more, shooting a better percentage....Roy is the easy choice. Since Bargnani is playing less minutes, this COULD be a closer discussion, but its not considering Bargnani's percentage from the field, I couldnt give it to him. A 7 footer with that kind of FG%? That is disgusting. Even if alot of his shots come from the perimeter.
Yeah the NBA ROY will defintley go to Brandon Roy this year just cause hes more productive in points, assists and rebounds. The only thing that comes into debate is the place the teams are in, the Raptors and heading for the playoffs while the Blazer are not so some may say Bargnani had more of a positive impact on his team then Roy has, also Roy was pretty much brought into Portland and was given the minutes, the role and his position right off the bat while Bargnani was slowly settled into the mix. I would love to see Bargnani win the R.O.Y but im 80% sure B.Roy will get it. Oh well the future is bright for Il Mago and B.Roy so thats a positive in all.
Brandon Roy will win because he is out performing Bargnani in every major stat. The fact that Roy has played 18 less games won't even be looked at.
It's easily Brandon Roy for me. Leads rookies in assists and points (and he shoots a good percentage for a rookie guard)....He is the easy choice for me...This kid is good at everything. I dont think he'll ever be a super star, but he is going to be a great all around player.

Bargnani is a rookie coming over from Europe. Most of his field goal attempts are jump shots, that's why his field goal percentage is low for a big man. Over time, he will learn to take higher percentage baskets, and he will work on an inside game.
Yeah, this is really no contest. Most people knew/thought Roy was the best rookie before the season started (NBA ready, anyway). There shouldn't even be a discussion, it's easily Brandon Roy. He has the most complete game, he's fairly consistent, he's a smart player, and there is just no doubt in my mind that as of right now he's the best player out of the 2006 NBA Draft.

Its not terrible, but its nothing to rave about. And if you read my entire post, I said that he takes alot of his shots from the outside, adn that still isnt that good. And if he is going to work on his inside game, he better start now. Working on it in practice isnt going to help as much as it would if he did it in the games.

Dirk was 20 when he entered the NBA. Bargnani was 21, and he still is 21. Yeah, Bargnani is a f*cking rookie who shoots from the perimeter. Give him a break, and stop being so ignorant about this. He will work on high percentage looks just like Dirk did. He is a smart player, he will learn. Yeah, probably because he was used to taking perimeter shots in Europe. He still doesn't have an inside game, but he will definately work on that. He sometimes posts up in the games, but to be honest; it isnt that effective because he just ends up taking turn around jumpers from 12 feet away...But give him a break. He is such a talented offensive player. Give him a year or two, and he is going to have a very complete offensive game.
Who's helped there team more this year? BargnaniWho's the better player right now? RoyWho's going to be better in the future? Probley BargnaniWho's going to win ROY? Roy is.pretty simple.

The Raptors have won more games this year and some of that credit can go to Bargnani, Roy has helped has his team quite a bit there not winning at all even if Roy is helping out, Hes not doing enough!! .
Brandon Roy, he just puts up better all-around numbers and better FG%. Bargnani has been pretty solid but even Raptors fans know, Roy's been the more impressive player...he's been pretty good playing point guard too.
