Unfortunately we don't have a Backyard here in the Bronx, so we are just going to have friends over and order from our local Diner. I'm playing the Mix Master tonight serving up frozen Daquiri's and Pina Colada's and of course Wine.

wait a moment it's the 1st of July, so let's party all month like it were 1776 all over again; let's toss shit in the Boston Harbor while we're at it, (a short detour in b/t games in Toronto to toss the shit)....

it's just too damn hot here in the Mojave to be outside BBQ'ng, not 'til midnight cools the place down. So 'til then it's beer, beer, more beer, and we'll resupply when the suds are gettin' low....

3 digit weather, down approx 10 degrees from last week. IS: Low to mid 100's, WAS: 116+, SB: hotter than hell....dry as a bone out here. As much as I used to love fireworks, they just have no place in this state in the hands of amateurs....

To me the Fireworks here are boring, nothing but annoying noise. We used to go to the park to see the real nice ones but I don't have time for that Shit anymore. :bgrin:

For two weeks prior to July 4th, and a good week after, once the Sun goes down it sounds like an all night firefight in the Jungles of Viet Nam, and yeah, they are illegal in most counties in Caly, yet that doesn't slow down vendors from selling, or buyers from buying; and blowing up shit............even during Francis Scott Key's long night, I'm sure the noise; and fields afire weren't comparable back then, to the shitfest its become.

I never had a prob with 'em in Luzianna, yet we lived in the bayou boondocks. Fireworks are legal in Luzzianna, yet more responsibly used, and one need not worry 'bout burning the place down. Bayou's vs Desert, like a firecracker vs Napalm....

It's been close to 20 yrs since I was in FLA. I do recall plenty of everything for sale down there. As I recall in Fla, as in Luzianna; they sale only "Black Cat" firecrackers, which can be a hoot and a holler to blow up shit. Out here, If you drive to a legal county to purchase any fireworks, you will only find shitty 'red devil' firecrackers, incapable of blowing the paper off the firecracker itself, along with those lovely never get tired of those sparklers, that is if one is still 5 yrs old......

I don't do a thing with fireworks and haven't for years. When I think back to my youth I did some really stupid stuff with them and am lucky to have all my fingers. At this point the only thing you're waiting to happen when you mess with them is a terrible accident. If I want to go somewhere to see them I will do that but as far as lighting them off myself no thanks.

...same here...fireworks just don't do it for me anymore.

...I remember blowing stuff up with firecrackers/cherry bombs/M-80s, etc when I was a kid...and got away with it unscathed. I also remember watching one of my Uncles and a friend of his who decided one 4th of July to have "a duel" with Roman Candles from about 50 paces...and yes, alcohol was a contributing factor. After a while they moved a little further away from each other and they discovered that they could intentionally allow these balls of fire hit them in the chest/back/butt as they were losing steam...I remember a lot of laughing and someone's clothes catching on fire but somehow no one got hurt.

...at the time, the possible consequences never seemed to be a concern, but I think back to those memories and wonder "WTF were you/they thinking?"

About the time you crossed the Twighlight Zone halfway to China, and went forward a full day, somehow the Yanx got lost in that black dead zone where time flips instantly a day ahead or behind, ..... it's all your fault...!:cowboy:

...the fact that this team did in fact have a relatively 20 game stretch in the schedule recently and managed to go 6-16 speaks volumes.

...and actually the last time you were here was in the Trump thread, remember?...you know, the one with the question you won't answer.
