Rumor is that New York only wants players under 26 years old, and if they get a vet, they want them on a short contract. Means they wouldn't want Anderson and would be looking to trade Courtney Lee.

I'm down with anything if we can get the right to swap NYKs firsts next year. We need to find our way into the lottery with another teams pick, if possible. We're already fucked cap wise, so taking on a bad contract like Anderson's is fine if we can get a very talented young player with a better pick.

I think that might be Olshey's plan here. Anderson, Turner, and Crabbe (and Meyers if we kept him) would all expire at the same time. We'd have Lillard, Nurkic, and McCollum on MAX deals, but would have Collins, Swanigan, and whoever we would draft with NYKs draft pick on rookie deals, and hopefully developing into good NBA players. That would allow us to go after high level FAs in the summer of 2020, when the Warriors may be on the decline and Lebron playing for who knows where.

If the deal is only the names that were reportedly mentioned - Harkless/Meyers out and Anderson in, I could see us doing another three-team deal with BKN and Boston that sent Crabbe to BKN, Vonleh to Boston, and Lin/Crowder to Portland.

    Dame/Lin
    CJ/Turner
    Crowder/Aminu
    Anderson/Swanigan
    Nurk/Collins

That would clear the $3 million they need for Hayward and give them a young rebounder in Vonleh. The Nets get their overpaid wing that they seem to covet so much.

Very true NO did the same thing with LA's free agency. He only signed players to contracts that expired with LAs haha

Blech. Anderson's WAY overpaid, and I REALLY don't like Ariza.

Moe and Meyers for Anderson is a good deal. Harkless is young but he is what he is, I don't see much more of an upside with him. Anderson is an elite shooter who'll get even better looks than he got in Houston. That makes our team better. Our offense is missing that third guy that can consistently knock down an open shot. With Anderson that problem is solved. If we can add Lee too, cool, but I'm more of a lance thomas fan.

I'd want a 1st rounder from Houston and would try to use flip that for Lin.

You could still have Aminu at PF, with Dame/CJ/Lin playing a 3-guard rotation and Crowder/Turner at SF.

Well I wouldn't mind Anderson a Blazer he definitely can shoot the ball. Any trade you might have to give up a good player to get what you want in the trade.

But if you are talking trading Crabbe I don't think that can official until July 15.

Fuck man i don't want anderson. His defense sucks. Harkless is on a good deal and isn't worth giving up to get rid of shitty meyers to grab a pf that averages around 60 games a season and can't play d

Damn, Anderson is only three years older than Dame. Actually, less than that. Closer to two years. I would have never guessed that.

I think Anderson fits our scheme quite nicely. Especially with Nurk.

I wouldn't mind if a deal with New York included us getting Mason Plumlee's younger brother....he's impressed me in summer league..throw him into the deal while we're at it.

I would prefer to keep Harkless but I assume he is someone NY wants. And having Aminu and Harkless on the same team is not really desirable to me anymore. So unfortunately since Harkless is younger, I think he is the one that goes.

That's a roster I could really root for. It's not a championship one IMO, but a fun, winning ball club.

Why do you think Blazers are in "Win-Now" mode as stated on earlier page? I don't see that. We're acquiring young, assets mostly and trying to build around Lillard's and CJ's age range. If we were win-now, we'd have traded ALL those picks for Vets IMO. Explain your rationale.
