Hard to see the the Blazers being interested in Ryan Anderson at this point. He has 3 more years left, and they just drafted Collins and Swanigan, and I think Olshey is very high on those 2. But if they can dump Turner and Meyers, in exchange for him, they could shedding 7 mil of hard to shed cap space.

In addition to that, they'd be able to dump Ed Davis, and maybe Aminu.

I think Ryan could be a nice rotational player with the Blazers.

He's so bad on D he might make Dame and CJ look like average defenders

Yes, finally someone who gets it...it'll be tough to lose Mo but Anderson is a perfect inside outside fit next to Nurk!

I'd like to give Davis one more year while healthy to show us what he's got. I think he does alright in the small rotation.

And if we're going to trade away Aminu, as I have said before: we need someone else to pick up the defense. And we have nobody who will do that, nor does this trade give us anyone who plays better defense than him.

To some people famous is getting 200 retweets. 5 minutes of fame kind of thing. "Breaking news leaked by this asshat on twitter" "Credit to @asshatontwitter"

They made it onto S2, which I'm pretty sure is huge +rep

If Porter gets matched, would they be interested in Crabbe? That's the REAL question.

Actually, Dame, CJ, and Crabbe all fit the bill quite nicely. Can Anderson replace Mo's cuts to the basket for automatic baskets? We don't need literally every player on the floor shooting 3s...despite what Tater Totts might think.

Social media has diluted the meaning of famous and shortened our collective attention span. Back in the day, people sought their 15 minutes of fame. Now, they're willing to settle for 5.

Anderson theoretically replaces Crabbe's 3 point shooting, but he isn't as good, and is a terrible defender. Crabbe is at least passable. Anderson is paid roughly 20 million over the next 3 seasons, which goes the length of every one of our "bad" contracts, so there's no chance at cap relief, unless you move Crabbe, Turner, and Leonard. And even then, why?
Anderson can't cover anyone. I know Meyers is written off, but as a backup C who has shown he can also hit at an above average clip from 3 when healthy, he can at least be brought in to cover bigger Cs. Anderson can't cover them, and can't cover PFs.

Looks to me that...NYK wants to get rid of Carmelo. Houston wants Carmelo. NYK don't want Anderson. If we're stuck with Anderson, I'd need BOTH teams giving me something good in return, and I don't want to lose a single asset I might actually like. But Houston has nothing to offer, Hartenstein and a 1st 3 years from now? And NYK is highly unlikely to move a 1st to dump Carmelo, or any asset, but that's what I'd need. I hate the idea of Anderson here. I much prefer Vonleh at PF starting, and then going small with Aminu off the bench at the 4, with minutes to Collins and Swanigan as well. Anderson not good enough to justify the $$ and length of his deal.

Can Anderson play remotely as well on defense as Mo? No. As long as we have Dame and CJ we cannot have Anderson too.

As in lets people drive right past him like he's not even there?

Yes, Anderson sucks at defense, but Crabbe is just as bad.

There are a BILLION reasons not to trade for Anderson! This had got to be one of the dumbest rumors EVAR.

I would hope any trade we would make would improve our defense, not leave it the same.

No argument there, it's definitely that way for some people. That's why you see so many people throwing shade to someone like Dame on twitter, every time they do that they retweet his response like "He noticed me, he noticed me!".

I know I shouldn't even start this with you, but has Anderson ever come up with a steal during crunch time? Because I remember Crabbe getting several - that alone makes Crabbe a far superior defender.

Ha, thatsa whata saida! But.... it would have to be 2020 pick, since Houston doesn't own it's own 2018 pick... and I'm not sure they'd do that.

Can Moe shoot remotely as well as Anderson? No.

I love some fans. Let's improve our team but let's do it without giving up anything in a trade or spending any money. I wish I lived in that world.

Trading for Anderson would actually make our defense MUCH worse. Vonleh (and Nurk) was our best defender last season. If we replace Vonleh with Anderson we may as well just tell Anderson to stay on the offensive end of the court at all times in the hopes we get a rebound and can outlet to him for an open 3.
