I think Hicks, Castro & Gardy are in the boom category. The bust category I would add Dellin, Chapman & Clippard.
Boom literally louder than any current player, ie exit velocity, qty of HR's >450 feet, ie "All Rise"... the Honorable Aaron Judge AL - MVP Torreyes Sanchise these 3 aren't necessarily booms, but the criteria for their production, or sheer guts to fight it out; may be enough for a boom in liue of a baboom. Monty (not quit a boom yet, but easily could be, for as green as he his, I give him a boom). Went from #18 in SP-ST depth chart (or higher); to the 5th man out. Severino (not the boom I'd like to see, yet he's pitching better than his record shows, and looks like he's going to be a fixture as soon as he lightly tweaks his game, whatever that may be, or occurr). Holliday (He may not of exploded out of the gates either, and needs more offensive numbers to be a true boom. His Veteran presence and leadership style in the dugout is priceless, now if he'd get hot/explode with the bat. PS- He can play 1st when necessary. Gregorius, seem's to of come back to turn his game around both with bat/glove. Biggest Q is will he continue to improve his game, to keep the competition at bay in the future years to come. Seem's like he's been playing knowing as much...put up or be gone. Busts: Headcase Pinhead Fat Man Dinglefkngberry Carter (should be in a seperate catagory just for him "duds" - King of K's) add- Bird and Ref, even if barely 20 games can define one or the other... But, I'd be surprised if we ever see the Bird of old, really surprised. Ref, wtf???? Castro juries out so far, he's having a good year by most standards, but for how long, can he repeat daily, yearly, is this the guy we want to see playing 2nd in ten years??? I'd say no he's not; or remind us why the Cubs let two rookies take his place. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see this entire team in the boom boom column, or blow their asses off the roster.
