God Damn shame, a starter can't go 5 innings in a game this team needs, then the relief guy come in and shits the bed.
Classic station to station baseball. #9 hitter doubles. #1, 2, & 3 hitters fail to advance the man 1 foot.
Totally disgraceful loss, this team found a two run lead insurmountable even with 5 consecutive inning of placing runners on base, # 1 hitter gets on in the 9th, #2,3,4 all fucking strike out. Both Tanaka and the offense failed today. And to make matters worse, the Tampa Team edged closer after taking out David Price and the Bostons. Overall piss poor last 1st half of the season day.
What's Tanaka's daytime ERA now 20.00? That's a real ace for you. Just when you thought he might be righting himself he stinks up the joint again.
...Judge is starting to regress and press...swinging and missing at pitches he once was taking...of course it would help if some of his teammates would help take some of the pressure off of him by actually contributing.
Judge is at .330 with 30 hrs and 60 something rbi's, leads the league in walks and plays an excellent right field. I don't think we have to worry about him.
...oh yeah, I'm aware of his stats for the year but what I was specifically referring to was his approach recently. Earlier in the year he had greatly lower his strikeout rate and his swing and miss rate which was a problem last year...But recently he's reverted somewhat and again, maybe it's because he's pressing a bit...I say this because he has not been nearly as selective, especially with 2 strikes as he was earlier in the year. ...In June and July he has 130 ABs and has struck out 52 times...that's once out of every 2.5 ABs...maybe it's just a short term trend on a short sample size, maybe it's because he doesn't have the protection behind him right now, maybe it's because opposing pitchers are simply not pitching to him as much, maybe it's nothing, ...who knows?
