Yeah, I'd do that in a heartbeat if New York would.

Lee is basically an older Crabbe with better defense at 2/3 the price.

It's gonna be fun having another star tell us explicitly that he doesn't want to come here. That will be great publicity as always.

But I'm happy to cope with that as long as it fucks with Houston fans.

I would too, tho I suspect NY wouldn't. And as much as I'm not a big fan of Anthony (or the defense the team wouldn't play), I'd rather have him than Anderson.

Even if NY would do it, I don't know if Anthony would waive his no trade clause.

In this case you either play with just 1 big or make them adjust to having said stretch4 contain Swanigan on defense

Why would something happen to Nurkic? Does Anthony have beef with Nurkic?

With the right combination of players (Harkless, Vonleh), expiring contracts (Davis) and picks, I think the Knicks would GLADLY do it. They want to move Anthony and really don't give two shits where he goes. They covet Harkless and obviously HOU doesn't have anything they want or this deal would have been done three weeks ago.

The key is getting Melo to waive that no trade clause. Dame and C.J need to start actively recruiting him. With Dame, C.J. and Nurk he'd have the best combination of teammates he's had in his entire career, even better than that 54-win DEN team that went to the WCF. On that team he was the young guy with Iverson, Billups and KMart all 31+ and on the downside of their careers. On this team he'd be the vert surrounded with guys who are 27, or younger, all entering their primes.

I think he means contract extension wise which is a good point, but I still think you pull the trigger on melo hopefully with success and a franchise actually dedicated to the players you can convince him to restructure after next year and keep both on team friendly deals similar to what Dame and CJ have done. It will take a WCF appearance at the very least to do so however.

I think it boils down to a few things (some are obvious and have been discussed already).

One of those things is how he feels about being a winner. Does he want to be a winner or does he want to gravy train.

Now I'm not saying a team with Nurkic, Damian, CJ and Anthony is going to beat Golden State, but I think they'd have a better chance than Houston would with Paul, Harden and Anthony.

Damian and CJ is about par with Harden and Paul, offensively. Defensively, Paul is better.

The issue would be how he fits in with both. Would he be able to accept having Paul and Harden do most of the offense? Or CJ and Damian? Would the idea of being around 3 other starters of note (CJ, Damian and Nurk) be more appealing than Paul and Harden?

Honestly, I think the Blazers squad (CJ, Dame, Nurkic and Anthony) are much better suited for a title run than the Houston squad would be (Harden, Paul and Anthony). Besides the age factor, I think both CJ and Damian have shown a great willingness to let others be the guys in the spotlight.

But I think that to Anthony, the idea of playing with the popular "superstars" is too much to pass up. Especially if/when they don't win, he won't be pegged as the reason.

Hmm isn't that just Nike? I'm wondering because if it is, he's probably been to Portland in the offseason.
