I think Crabbe is the right size for a 3 & D SF. Regardless if some think he sucks on D, or if his salary is too high, the bottom line is he is still a good 3 pt shooter and his 6'11" inch wing span is enough to cover most SFs on the perimeter.
No I would take him. I think he would opt out after a year and I would be fine moving a large contract for him. But If I am the NY Knicks, with Phil Jackson gone, ( I still can't believe some Blazer fans wanted him to run our franchise) I would go all in for young players and free agents next summer
I think it's almost a certainty that a contract that doesn't have Lillards, McCollums or Nurkic' name on it would have to be moved to bring him in. So...sure as long as it doesn't involve. Dame, CJ or Nurkic.
Of course it would, but who cares? I see no downside to that scenario, and it's the only one that Portland would go for. Trading one of their big three for Anthony would make no sense.
Huh? The only way that Anthony would ever get traded to Portland would be if he gave the Knicks permission to do the deal. And if he does that, it means he wants to be here.
Partially agree. If the new Knicks GM shuts down conversations with HOU/CLE because they are simply not offering enough, Anthony may agree because it is the best option available. He would come because he wants to be here more than the zoo that is the Knicks and it is the best of the possibilities available but he may not really view it as his first or even second choice of where he really wants to be.
I've been consistent about Melo no longer being a high quality player. However, I don't think he'd hurt the team and what had overwhelmed everything else is how unhappy it would make Houston fans. Also, Clutchfans seems to be agreed that New York can't just hold onto Anthony, because that would be "holding him hostage" (!) and it would destroy their reputation forever more with players. Because what players care most about is teams making bad deals so that Melo can play with his friend.
They got nothing else. They know they have jack shit that the knicks want. Got to go with the emotional card
I don't believe anything I see in the NY Daily News. That is like one step up from the NY Post. My guess is he will only become pull the no trade clause Portland when and only when it becomes obvious that a deal with Houston is impossible. They still have to put together an acceptable deal and who knows if the new GM will take it. Although the team president does have the final say.
I do not care this way or that about Carmelo, would not mind if we do not, if we do, hope we get rid of a longer bad contact in the process and see how it goes with him. I just hope we keep the rookies and the big 3 - the rookies are intriguing
Carmelo "the ball stops here" Anthony would be brutal in this offense. Carmelo "I don't play defense" Anthony wouldn't help us at all in the post season. Carmelo "money means more than winning" Anthony would be awful in our locker room
What, Clutchfans-ers are delusional? You're kidding me! I would never have guessed. If in response to NY saying, "We'd love to trade you to Houston, but they won't give us (or anyone else) anything worthwhile to bring you in; expand your destination options," Melo says, "No! It's Houston or nothing, and I'm holding my breath until I get my way!" it's the toddler-terrorist that's holding someone hostage, not the team.
I appreciate you clarifying that for me. Considering my post-Julius-post-response fail from yesterday, I likely would have misunderstood...
